Just Stop seems to be approaching everything he makes videos on from a generally cynical perspective, which I think a screenname like Just Stop would make pretty clear, essentially saying that to those who make entertainment that he finds frustrating. Implicitly Pretentious is more even-handed, not shying away from saying something negative if he feels something warrants it, but not centering his channel around cynicism or negativity. The Homelander one was so sad, because he was so innocent and actually seemed like he wanted to help. He was given Noir as a caretaker and he seemed okay with it but Stillwell twisted and groomed him to believe he was better and he had to care about being the most liked. I believe Noir could have been a fantastic mentor. He's still shady as the rest of the boys but he gets the job done first of all and shows true compassion. Imagine how differently it would have went had he waited for Noir, or spent more time with Noir to learn from him.

My favourite is the one with the Numidians and the divorce where I think you missed the focus of the episode. I think the episode was focused on toxic relationships and how "the spark" isn't enough to make up for deeper underlying issues and lack of communication, compromise and one's willingness to deal with past traumas and personal troubles. The kid was trying to rekindle the spark between her parents. And she succeeded. However, contrary to what romantic movies make us believe, that isn't enough to give them a happy ending as they were simply incompatible. This also serves, in my opinion, as a small coming-of-age story for the girl, as she becomes disillusioned with the happyly ever after story. Where at the start she thought "love" was enough to keep to people together, in the end, she learns and accepts that a relationship requires work and maturity, two things her parents don't have. This way, instead of leaving the episode on a "oh no, what about the true victims of the divorce, the children?" note, it leaves us on a hopeful one as we're shown that the girl is smart and mature so we can rest assure that she won't repeat their mistakes and will have, when the time comes, a good marriage.

I’d rather just watch an entire animated series of The Boys by Garth Ennis. Awkwafina needs to not be around any more creative projects in general, in person or otherwise. She is garbage. Why was she allowed to ruin The Boys Diabolical AND Shang Chi?

Episode 5 is easily the worst, Awkwafina's voice doesn't fit the character in the slightest other than the juvenile humour and the whole story is just kind of mid. It just doesn't feel like it belongs in The Boys, just an excuse to let Awkwafina have her own episode. An easy skip compared to the other episodes.

it's possible to make that power funny, but not basing an entire episode around it. Like throw her in for like 2 minutes of an episode, make fun of the powers, maybe have her die in a horrible fashion to show that her powers are shit (hehe). But making us sit throught a full 20 minutes of those powers, with an unlikeable character attached to them, just a horrible idea I don't understand how anyone signed off on

it really needed a twist ending, that's the only thing that could have made the episode bearable. I'm actually glad The series took a different direction than the comics but all the same, it was enjoyable to see an unfiltered/unchanged version of the comics written by the creator. It even does some fun things like having Simon Pegg voice Hugie (almost as if it was always intended this way). And yes, I believe Jason Isaacs could have definitely played Butcher just as well as Karl Urban could have (both are brilliant actors). Though my favorite episode has to be Nubian Prince and Nubia's episode. That one is just really funny and cynical, backed up my masterful voice acting from John DiMaggio, Aiesha Keys, and Don Cheedle. There is charm to most episodes except the one by Awkafina. Not even hilarious D-Bag loser "The Deep" could save that one.

The only ones I really liked were I'm Your Pusher and One Plus One Equals Two. It was cool to see an episode based off of the comics (and is even canon to it!) and another showing how Homelander failed to be a hero. We should've gotten more like those two, but the one I disliked the most was Boyd In 3D and BFFs. Boyd In 3D was a cheesy and dumb love story that doesn't fit the story of the show or comic and BFFs was just poop jokes galore. The others were alright or boring to me, I liked how In Nubian Vs Nubian we got to see characters from the comics that haven't been in the show yet, AKA the G-Men members (Nubia and Groundhawk)

Genuinely cannot believe that you like Garth Ennis. Your takes on everything else are usually so good! But Ennis just fuckin'... sucks. His writing is really bad. It's so focused on horrid edgelordy shit that the edgelordy shit loses all impact basically immediately and at best comes off as unintentionally funny. The man wrote a character in for an incidental bit who drinks the blood of kids with terminal illnesses so he can taste the despair. The guy's a parody of himself. But the biggest problem with The Boys (comic) is that Ennis straight up does not understand Superheroes well enough to do an effective parody. Literally every superhero is either a helpless useless victim or they're a murdering serial rapist, and the justification is "Well if I had powers I'd be evil so everyone else would be too."
