In this video, IM Alex Astaneh will teach you important principles and concepts that you can apply in your endgames.
We take a look at the following points:
King Activity:
We covered the importance of king activity in endgames, especially in king and pawn endgames as well as rook and pawn endgames. King activity is especially highly important in king and pawn endgames.
Pawn Structure:
Sometimes the difference between a healthy and an unhealthy pawn structure makes the difference between winning or losing in the endgame.
Passed Pawns:
Passed pawns are crucial, because very often in king and pawn endgames, the side who can promote his pawn first, will win.
Endgame concepts:
We discussed in this video the concepts of “Zugzwang” and "Opposition" which are also relevant in endgames.

Great video as always. Personally I like the 2D board. This is just a small thing but why not centre the board on the screen?

We are happy that you liked the video! We do not center the board completely because we wanted to keep some space below the board for the subtitles.

I think that there is a 'rule' worthing to remember; at the first position, white King must penetrate to one of the squares; d5, e5, f5 or the adjacent squares of the c4 pawn; b5, a5 (and if it were one extra file at the left, that square too) I don't know if this is absolutely correct or if I am understandable to what am I saying 😜😜😜
