I think you should put all the songs in each "set" into a playlist. So the Dr, Pinkie and Mrs. Pinkamena songs will g into one playlist. Your next set would go into its own playlist. etc. Your stand-alone animatronics, then can go into a big general playlist.

I have got to say, besides the choice of using the Jekyll and Hyde musical, what really got my attention was the focus, and detail put into how expressive and lifelike the bodily, and facial movements were. Hyde's facial expressions and poses in Alive gave me chills. All I ask is that you do quality like that.

Glad you like the songs. We plan to finish the Monte Cristo songs before moving onto the set musical set. But we're going to do random songs between the sets, to give ourselves a break. Not sure how many yet... We basically just do what we want :)

I'd like to suggest something :) You guys ever heard about "The Scarlet Pimpernel"? Though it's not my favorite musical of all time, it still has some very good and powerful songs I'd just LOVE to see ponyfied. I can perfectly imagine that songs like "Madame Guillotine", "Falcon In The Dive", and "The Riddle" would fit just fine into your other works. Scarlet Pimpernel - Track 02 - Madame Guillotine OST I'll leave this playlist here. Perhaps you two give it a try, or you already know that musical. Everytime I listen to this I think about your J&H or Monte Cristo vids. Words fail me as I try to describe what your work means to me. You brought me and some of my friends even closer together in a way I could not imagine. We went to the theatre to see Jekyll and Hyde and The Count of Monte Cristo (in german, but we loved it no matter what), and yet we catch eachother singing a random line from the songs you used in your animatics. I just want to say ... thank you. I can't wait for your next work. Because I know it's gonna be a blast! (I hope my english is okay, I'm still learning!)

Hello let me start by saying you guys are AWESOME! One thing I ask I'm 13 and my dream is to become an animator I'm a very creative person but I've got nothing to put my ideas to use do you have any suggestions on where I should start from here?

Well, we're both mainly self-taught, so I'm not sure what I can say. The best thing I can say is to practice drawing. Sil draws all the time and she's been drawing in art books for years. Sketches, paintings and on the computer. Other things you can do to help yourself is paying attention to movies, think about framing and look up stuff about animating. And taking courses that relate to what you're interested in can help you. There's not much I can say because I don't know how to explain it and we've only been doing these animatics for a few months so I don't know everything, but I hope this helps.

I think you can get them on iTunes, but you can get the CD from the internet like Amazon. It's sung by Anthony Warlow but you'll have to get the concept album because he never performed on the stage version.

Question: When you say 'set,' do you mean you're gonna be doing every song in the Jekyll & Hyde musical? Suggestion: "The Last Alicorn Princess" by PKEmi (The Last Alicorn Princess here's a link for your convenience). It's about how Twilight feels about the authors thrusting her alicorn stuphs onto her for no good reason :P

"Set" just refers to a musical that we are doing multiple songs from. While we do plan to do more Jekyll and Hyde songs in the future, we probably won't end up doing all of them. There's 2 reasons for this. 1: We might just hate the song and really don't want to make an animatic of it, we do these based on personal preference after all. And 2: We wouldn't want to do all the songs because then people would just come to us to listen and find them, we want them to support the original creators by buying the music or going to see the musical themselves. So if we leave some songs out, people would we more inclined to find out what the other songs are. Anyway, I probably went overboard answering your question but I hope this helps.

Man... I had this exact idea a few months ago. I was going to just make animatics because I had these scenes in my head that would go with songs, but I didn't have the talent to fully animate it. So I thought animatics would be a fun way to at least get it out there. Been working on the first one for a long time. My main target would be creating scenes from various fanfic writing to give it more attention, and showcase some real gold writing within it. However my question is, what software do you two use?

This is our process: Silhouette storyboards them first then she draws the images on a computer in the program; Adobe Photoshop Elements 7, though any Photoshop or drawing program will work, that's just the one she likes. She saves the images separately as jpegs and then I put them into Windows Movie Maker and edit them with music in there. That's what we did with these Jekyll and Hyde videos, the update, Hello my Ditzy and Subscriber Special video, but I'm going to try and change over to Adobe After Effects and edit the animatics in that soon. Hope that helped.

(Please don't take this badly, I'm just trying to explain our situation): Trying to colour everything on every frame would take forever (Confrontation had just over 100 images and Alive had just under 150) You have to remember that there are only two of us working on these, with only one of us doing all the drawings, and Sil personally hates drawing backgrounds. And then there's the fact that these are animatics, these aren't supposed to be perfect, just a storyboard put together on the computer, but ours have a little more care put into them than usual animatics. Yes there is the option that we get other people to help us, but that's hard for us considering that we have a bad internet connection and we live in the middle of nowhere. Also sometimes it's a choice of style. We could've done the Jekyll and Hyde animatics in colour, but it has a better atmosphere in grayscale, I mean would Miss Pie really have been as intimidating in those songs bright pink instead of grey? Anyway this post is already too long and I think I'm rambling. So I hope you understand a bit more and why we don't colour everything.
