Around 18-20. In best case scenario. The glide angle, the L/D should not be confused with low descent values. See that the glider does not travel too much only some dozen meters. an F3B class modell has 30-32 L/D with way higher surface loads (higher Reynolds numbers at the foil with approx 10 times lower drag factor proportionally) We measured F3J's gliding performance even with high (higher) F/A's, ~45g/dm2 to improve it, and the gliding performance on closed track, with some even wind conditions was miserable. The old (very old!) F3B gliders from the early 1993 years took 10-12 lengths and a 2003 Stork2 could fly merely 7-8 lengths during the same starts despite the mentioned ballast and more slender wing planform for the Stork2. The airfoil was also more up-to-date for the J with HN-354.

Hi Julian, Hope all is well. Look I am no expert and would like to ask your opinion on Exporer's hollo wing design opposed to other manufacturers with Rohacell or XPS core.. What would be the advantage or disadvantage of the two different designs? Thanks for your reply in advance!

Hello Adrián, my friend. Hope all are doing well down there. You cant get any better hollo wing design than the Rohacell. It us much lighter and better aerodynamic charekteristik.

I use to fly RC. electric Mustang, doing slow barrel rolls on take off, lots of pucker power there too.
