IMPOSSIBLE TASK? Building A 1957 Chevy In 3 Days Then Driving It 1000 Miles?

Day 1!
Naturally we're already behind... Plagued with missing parts and a HARD deadline.
All we have to do is completely "rebuild" a 1957 Chevy in 3 days and take it 1000 miles on power tour. Today we managed to set in the motor, transmission and hung the rear end. While that seems like alot got done, it's the little things that will sneak up on ya.
Plumbing brakes, fuel, wiring ect ect are all going to be time wasters
After a 14 hour day we had ourselves a roller and could see just a little light at the end of the tunnel.

Yep, Reminds me of when I was in high school and we had a "car club", which was nothing more than 6 guys who had a cool classic car. One of us had a 66 El Camino that started out with a 230 strait 6 with a 3 on the tree but a mad dash of thrashing we put a 305 in it because he blew it up 2 nights before a show we were all going to.

This reminds me so much of about 20 yrs ago, when 3 of us, built two Novas, and a 76 Chevy pickup, every nut and bolt was out and they were sitting on milk crates. Nowadays they are all still on the road today.

Hey Dan, You're a hell of a guy to come 3 days early to help a friend get his car ready for power tour. It looks easy, but there's 4-5 of you doing the same thing as you do by yourself. Hope you guys make it! i wish we had something like the HRPT out here in the West/Southwest. Sure there's 1 day cruises and overnight cruises but nothing that's even close to HRPT and there's not reason not to, Most of the automotive parts and repop companies are out here in Arizona, Nevada and California, your telling me NPD, AMD or Rock Auto couldn't sponsor a 4 or 5 day cruise that goes from Phoenix up to LA then down to Palm Springs then up to the Santa Monica Pier or Start in Tucson then go up to Phoenix then over to Lake Havasu then up to Vegas or from San Diego up to Pamona then up to Barstow then over to Bakersfield? I mean there's all kinds of possibilities there for an Extended 4 day weekend or 5 day weekly tour like the Hot Rod Power tour. I live in Northwest Arizona and I'm 5 and hours from Tucson and 6 hours to San Diego but 5 to Tucson or 6 hours to San Diego is still a hell of lot better than 21 hours to Memphis of 27 hours to Atlanta.....

Install a big fan where the back seat goes for air conditioning. Put the mini bike in the trunk.You'll have time to fix it on the tour. Toss a coin for who's going to do the wiring job.haha.Hope the engine don't fall out. When you dump the clutch at 6000rpm

No aspersions on him, that's just the way it goes. Heck even the manufacturers have to do rework. It's called warranty repair.
