The autistic one reminds me of a person who told me I was a terrible person for wanting children, because I am autistic and they could end up like me. I told her I was far more terrified of my child ending up like her.

Autistic is only a concept, does not mean they are wrong, my uncle was a mongoied, his name was uncle Jimmy, people including my family made fun of him because they were scared of him, he was so strong, my mom and her sister were even scared of him, he was my best buddy as a child...they ended up putting him in a horrible home where he died, he would ask for me to come see him and I did, I still miss my uncle Jimmy

The female being born with a Y chromosome is real. Basically, from the moment the XY embryo is conceived, it has a genetic condition called androgen insensitivity syndrome . It is incurable but not life threatening Basically until around 11 weeks the fetus appears female. In a male fetus testosterone starts to create the penis and scrotum. In an XY (technically male) fetus with androgen insensitivity syndrome stays looking like a female fetus. This is because the syndrome makes it impossible to metabolise testosterone. The baby will be born looking like a female baby. Testosterone replacement therapy doesnt work because it can't be metaboilised.

How to galvanise an economy 1. Gives tax breaks to the rich, or 2. Give every poor person £600..? Answer, number 2. A poor person will have to spend the money eventually. Multipy that by millions and every penny will benefit someone, including the odd rich person and the taxman. The rich person will consider a tax break as virtually nothing and just bank any extra income, benefitting hardly anybody. Yet governments continue to give tax breaks to people who already don't need any more money.

10:22 Actually the DNA evidence shows that only Hemmings youngest child had DNA from Jefferson's line but does not prove that it was from Jefferson himself. DNA evidence can prove who did not father a child but cannot prove who actually did. From an article I read in Science magazine: "....after the DNA tests were published, genealogists noted that at least 25 adult male Jeffersons, including eight who lived within 20 miles of Monticello, could have fathered Eston Hemings." So the speculations that Jefferson had sex (and a child) with Sally Hemmings remain just that; speculations.

Not so far by horseless carriage, but if your horse walks at four freedom units per hour (6.4kph) and trots at maybe eight freedom units per hour (c. 13kph) then that 20 freedom unit distance is beginning to look like quite the journey for a quick roll in the hay when the alternatives are running your farm or your law office or whatever it is you do to earn enough money to pay for your pre-industrial revolution life. I mean, five hours to get there at a comfortable gait and then maybe an hour in the sack and then another five hours to get home again with literally nothing to show for your twelve-hour day? 13.48 There was a large population of black slaves on mainland North American who were brought here by the Portuguese & the Spaniards, long before the French & English got into the act (which doesn't excuse their partaking of the practice). I understand it was the culture of the time, and made economical sense, but it was morally & ethically wrong IMO. The blacks they got were sold by other Africans (Barbary Pirates) who enslaved & sold not only their fellow Africans but others. Incidentally, in case you didn't know, the Barbary Pirates were also stealing and enslaving a lot of white Europeans (and Americans) and selling them in the slave markets in Algeria, Tunisia and the Middle East. "From at least 1500, the pirates also conducted raids on seaside towns of Italy, Spain, France, England, the Netherlands, Ireland, and as far away as Iceland, capturing men, women and children. In 1544, Hayreddin Barbarossa captured the island of Ischia, taking 4,000 prisoners, and enslaved some 2,000-7,000 inhabitants of Lipari. In 1551, Ottoman corsair Dragut enslaved the entire population of the Maltese island of Gozo, between 5,000 and 6,000, sending them to Ottoman Tripolitania. In 1554 corsairs under Dragut sacked Vieste, beheaded 5,000 of its inhabitants, and abducted another 6,000. The Balearic Islands were invaded in 1558, and 4,000 people were taken into slavery. In 1618 the Algerian pirates attacked the Canary Islands taking 1000 captives to be sold as slaves. On some occasions, settlements as far north as Baltimore in Ireland were abandoned following a raid, only being resettled many years later. Between 1609 and 1616, England alone lost 466 merchant ships (and crew/passengers) to Barbary pirates." Some countries were paying tribute to not be attacked but when in 1784 American shipping started being attacked (we were protected by the French during the Revolutionary War) Jefferson sent in the marines to stop the Barbary pirates & put an end to their attacking of American ships and enslavement of anyone they captured. That was the start of the modern Marine Corp. However, all the 'slaves' in colonial America at that time were not black. A large proportion of the people who came here, called 'indentured servants', were white and while not called slaves were technically of the same status as the blacks. Most of them came from England, Scotland, Ireland, the Netherlands, etc. and were 'indebted' to whomever paid their debts, their passage to this country, or were indentured as an alternative punishment instead of jail time. For the term of their indentured servitude they had some rights, but for the most part they suffered the same working conditions and punishments as the blacks did.

9:33 I noticed that I often had a hard time breathing with a mask on when *outside* vs indoors in an enclosed room. The only difference I could think of was that where I am, it is often humid outside. And if I wore it inside, it was usually in an office with drier a/c air. There are anecdotal reports that asthmatic individuals sometimes have attacks in high humidity. Articles on the subject do not address whether the h2o is competing for o2 or the exact mechanism by which this occurs. I would imagine that some effect would show up over long periods of time if measured. Dismissing the issue without examination to get the hard facts one way or another isn't very sciency. btw, I'm sure emergency doctor was wearing his 2 masks in a dry a/c room. If he had to do the same with the a/c non-functional, I wonder if he wouldn't be wondering if he was getting enough o2 in his system.
@NorthernSeaWitch
@NorthernSeaWitch Ай бұрын
It's nothing to do with the level of oxygen. Wearing one or more masks increases the humidity of air going in. Optimal diffusion of both oxygen in and carbon dioxide out depends on maintaining an ideal amount of fluid in the lungs. Too much or too little limits the rate at which the gasses will exchange. This is what you feel when wearing masks, not the oxygen level.
@aaronleverton4221
@aaronleverton4221 Ай бұрын
@@NorthernSeaWitch What? It doesn't increase the humidity of the air going in, that is impossible. What it does is trap the moisture being expelled in the mask. So that the mask becomes ever wetter with every breath out. Meaning that every breath in is through a heavier medium. That is where it becomes problematic for asthmatics, they have to breathe harder simply to get the air into their lungs, even when they are not experiencing an attack. Jesus, don't ever post on a semi-scientific topic again.

Unlike "conservative" pundits, Dr. Fauci changed his mind once more evidence came out. Which it did, as this quote was from the VERY beginning of the outbreak, before the CDC updated its advice on masks once they saw that there were more effective than originally thought. Also because now there were more masks available for non-medical staff. There's several articles about that change, actually, specifically BECAUSE people like you keep trying to mislead others with out-of-date quotes whose context changed once more data was obtained (as happens with science). Although I guess if lying and misleading people is all you've got, this is probably an OK start so long as your audience is as deliberately ignorant and short-sighted as you are. Some people, even doctors it seems, fail to understand that the mask is not there to protect you, it is there to help protect others _from_ you. The mask is to stop YOU from spreading droplets all over the place. "people keep fiddling with the mask and they keep touching their face" well, yes, and it is not a problem because they cannot infect themselves if they do not already have it and, likewise, cannot infect themselves if they already do. Ever wonder why many stores offered you a free mask on the way IN to the store? It was to help prevent you infecting the store/goods, not the other way around.
