IMPRESSIVE Tough Table Challenge By Matt Selt!

It's time for the Tough Table Challenge!
Today's competitor is none other than, Matt Selt! In this video, Matt displays his incredible snooker brain to full effect, plotting out just how he'll defeat the Tough Table with his excellent positional play and potting ability. A reminder of the rules - each snooker pro gets a maximum of two attempts to make the highest break they can from the same TOUGH Table arrangement created by Stephen. The current leader is of course, Stpehen Hendry on 82, can Matt knock him off top spot?

Whenever I've seen Matt on TV I always thought he was quite a boring character, but I couldn't be more wrong! He's a proper spicy and funny bloke. I wish players were allowed to showcase their personality more on TV without getting fined and banned every 2 seconds. I genuinely think it could be the key to regenerating popularity of snooker in the UK.

I think you're absolutely right! After watching some of these videos I feel I know these players a lot better, and it makes it more attractive to watch them play, also easier to get "invested" in a player when randomly watching snooker.

I really don't like his attitude though, when you hear him talk you'd think he's won at least 10 world titles. Confidence is good but to me it seems more like arrogance.

@@gfdggdfgdgf I get what you mean but I think that makes it all the more interesting. When players are really diplomatic it just comes across as fake anyway, I personally like a bit of needle and spikiness from sports people.

One of the main reasons why snooker is still not as popular is because the players are "cold" (it´s a term used to describe players that do not showcase their personality during a game).

The thing I love about this is I grew up in the 90s when Hendry dominated and was miserable as sin or appeared so, but doing this channel his personality shines through more than it did when ruled the game. Keep up the good work 👏

Shows what a good sportsman Matt is, he pointed out the accidental plant that had been left and even went as far to ask if Stephen wanted to make it fair. Not sure he would have got so high without the coaching (suggestions from Stephen), but at the same time he might have got even higher - I thought it cut.

Very interesting to see the 'strategy' Stephen. I Like your 'tutorials' ! Could you do a video on the 'hardware': choice of cue & tip - are length and weight a parameter? What diameter of cue tip ? What 'balls' do you recomment ? Is table cloth choice determent on the speed of the balls ? What do you prefer ? Are there other observations to consider ? Many thanks & success ! hi stephen, i really need your advice , been struggling for years ;( I have always been bending my bridge arm too much , for year, and i have been having alignment issues, can you make a video how straight the bridge arm should be? or doe sit have an impact turning the body or grip elbow going behind head etc. i am pretty sure my alignment has to do something with this issue thank you
