It's not unpopular a lot of black Americans have said this. She sounds good but she doesn't sing like her. A lot of white people think black people sound alike or look alike they can't tell the difference or at lease they act like they can't. Aretha Franklin was known for being shady and very critical of other artists´ voices. She voiced her appreciation for Whitney and Mariah, and appreciated the "gowns" of Taylor Swift. So for her to recognize and say that Cynthia can sing... you know it´s the real deal.
