Very challenging. Have real balance issues walking? Is this a good lesson to keep returning to. If I close eyes I would fall over. Can only move legs a little way front and back. Any suggestions gratefully received. Ronald

Hi Ronald, Thanks for writing-- Yes, this lesson in the standing part can be challenging, particularly standing on one leg for someone in your situation. Work with only the sitting portion of this lesson (and the sitting portion of the next lesson) and wait with the standing part of the lesson with crossing the legs until you have better balance with the sitting portion. When balance is difficult, you will want to make smaller steps to the goal of standing and moving legs a little further front and back and then try to cross them toward the midline, then past the midline. But don't force this process. Take your time to get solid with balance in each step of the way. (I'll make more videos for this process but until them hopefully this instruction above gives you a sense of how to make small improvements and gradually have more range of motion) The closed eyes portion, I would either stand near a wall or wait until your balance in sitting feels more solid before working with closed eyes.

when walking normally, should your head be moving/nodding at all?

good question-- in general, one's head can "float" during the undulation of the rest of the body-- much like a horseback rider, skier, etc. The quieter one's head, the less work to balance.

@@SensingVitality and less tension on neck muscles. I want to get there. I fast walk for 40 minutes and end up totally tense. Tense chest and tense shiulders

@@ImpulsoCreativo9322 The process takes some time to develop awareness. It's hard to do while walking fast... Perhaps working up to fast walking until you can walk without tensing your chest and neck. I'm guessing your movements could be smoothed out more, working with your core balance in slow lessons and integrate that-- then slowly speed that up. The Vital Back series on my Patreon Site, as well as the last two series there would be helpful for you.

@@SensingVitality thanks. Totally considering these series. But how fast sor slow do u move through one of ur series?

@@ImpulsoCreativo9322 I'd recommend with the series classes, to work with one class for at least 4-5 days before going on to the next class-- the series are pretty packed with material that you can review for a while before going to the next class. They were designed to work with one class throughout the week, reviewing the class a few times and on your own before going to the next class-- this gives time to build the nature awareness assignments. You can augment in between with other videos or audio lessons if you like.

Hi Leneke, Try this So you are sitting near a wall so you don't fall over… I just published a new balance lesson you might check out for Standing. Sometimes with his balance lessons it's good to alternate different lessons to approach balance from different neurological connections. Give it some time and keep me posted
