You feel like your arch is going to give out and it is much more difficult to stay on point because you don't have that support. If you dance regularly on them you'll notice that your not getting the support you need. Hope that helped

abby: Yes, in 3 easy steps: Step 1 - Master the step facing the barre, meaning that you're executing the step well with only a light hold on the barre (no pressing down or tight grabbing). Step 2 - Practice this step for a few days or weeks at the barre with both your hands about one inch above the barre - not actually touching it, but you will feel secure knowing you can grab it any time. Once you're no longer dipping down to touch the barre, go to Step 3 - Do the step still at the barre but with arms in 1st then in 2nd, still facing the barre such that your hands are still in the general vicinity of the barre. Once you're happy with Step 3 go try it in the centre and you'll be amazed!

I thought Id write a post and to say -Thank you for the videos. Im not a dancer by any stretch of the imagination but I have incorporated some of the stretching and work outs from your videos and I also try to do some of the "dance moves" -Sorry dont know what they are actually called, just to get a better balance and get a better "feel" of my body movement. I ride a motorcycle and in my mind this has helped allot with how I move and "feel" my body while I ride. So, doing a little "ballet" seems to make me a better motorcycle rider! Thank you again! I really like your videos and you look absolutely beautiful when you are dancing... well you also look beautiful when not dancing.. -Take care and keep on dancing!

Something that helps me and that my teacher always tells me is to do a full revolution so that you’re body and leg are to the front when you roll down with every turn. I tend to roll down early (kind of like a pirouette) so then i have to swing my leg around further which then throws me off my balance. Just thought I’d add it in 💘

I have struggled with injuries for years. I would say take it slow and build up super slow. Say one day you only do one then wait a day or two and see it that one hurt. Nope? Then try 2. Knee still good? Try 3. (I do not mean consecutively I mean individually until you feel your knee can handle it and if it cannot then don’t worry at least you tried.) also don’t forget to stretch and warm up, continue doing rehab exercises as prehab, and again don’t rush.
