Thank you to everyone who has sent me a message recently. There has been a reason for the lack of videos. A lot of you have also noticed that certain videos and photos are missing from both of my channels and social media pages. Well, things are not ok. But I ask that you please respect my privacy at this time. This video was filmed awhile ago, so I am not sure how consistent my content will be in the next couple weeks. I do promise too update you all very soon. Love to you all. xoxo Katie

Katie, please make sure you take care of yourself, that's more important than any content you can possibly provide on any social media... And if you decide to share please make sure it's because you want to and feel ready and not because you feel the need to. Your obligations are to yourself first and foremost and not to any followers. I very much hope you've got people to lean on and to support you with whatever happened. We'll survive, even if there's no new content for a while (the videos are amazing but thats not the point right now) so please take your time!

You are an amazingly beautiful person on the inside and out. Your private walk is important - but, you don't have to walk alone...each and every one of us has your back and will be here when you're ready. You have amazing parents and such a strong circle of friends- lean into them when your heart is heavy. Lean into the little joys you find. Breathe. Coming from a performance background, I know how easy it is to judge everything we do...and we tend to internalize and question set backs based on what we perceive we could've done/seen/changed/noticed/been. Please give yourself adequate grace and know that we are responsible only for our own choices and there is nothing you did or could do to justify the wrong that was done to you. That's their burden to carry. You are the definition of class and I couldn't hold you in higher regard.

I actually think this generation has it so much harder. The lines of propriety aren't as clear as they once were and silence is often taken as the "green light" for speculation when, in reality, it should be a time of reflection or support. The boundaries of work and private life are blurring and, while it makes the good times better, it often makes the bad times worse. In my opinion, it's 100% ok to say "I'm concerned and support you and ready to listen if you choose to share." It's never okay to demand to know the private lives of others.

I hope you are ok. I quit ballet when I was about 10. Not because I didn't like it, it was more than the teacher and the students around me were not nice to me and I finally decided, as a 10-year-old, to move on and get out of that bad environment. It's been a few years now and I finally started watching you. I am now going to a different studio and am enjoying ballet! Thank you for getting me back into it!!

1.19.21 K.M.: Your explaination of how a dancer will enhance the basic steps of adagio is definitive of the artistry of the character of ballet that surpasses technique alone. That, the adagio, and rather than a position statically held, but instead, and by the upper body (arms _and_ head) in motion continueing and precisely to offset the lower limbs stationary that, that a development fluid & balanced may be created & expressed makes of ballet a living classical art form. Your love of the art, of true & accurate appreciation, has made of you a valuable & genuine teacher. (Honestly, have you not considered writing a book?) Many, many thanks. Please, stay in the best of health, & with ever evolving success & happiness. Bon courage. D.C.

I am not a very accomplished dancer when it comes to adage, but I love it none the less. I loved this video, also just wanted to add a tidbit that I've been learning more about from my newer dance teacher this dance season is that if you do stop in adagio it has to be for a reason sometimes pause is a nice addition to your movement. if you add your breath after a pause in your porte de bras it can add intention to your movement. I think it's just valuable to remember to have a plan in your head of how you want to make the exercise look within the choreography. I'm still learning how to plan ahead in my dancing like this but I've found it really helps me enjoy dancing more and stay calmer which always makes things look better. Always love your videos Kathryn hello from Canada!

Yes things will be better in the long run! When I was you age (I‘m about 8 yrs older than you), I went through a similar hard time as you seem to have to endure right now. I thought I‘d never be happy again and that I was to blame for the wrongs someone else did to me. well you are NOT. Even though those times were horrible, in hindsight I am glad it went that way because I went to much happier places and worthier people from then on. I hope this helps and please if u r to take anything from my boring comment please be either try to turn ur negatives round and see the positives more and/or experience a distraction even for only a minute o relax and relieve the pressure we build up during tough times.
