Thanks for the emphasis on RL being a team game. A lot of people forget that because they always want to be the one with the most points or be the flashiest one. I just want to win. I am more of a tactician, not an all-out offensive player so I love trying to set my teammates up with a lot of centered balls but often times when I get a clear shot that is somewhat slow but still out of reach from my opponents, a teammate will come in and tap it in when it was gonna be a goal anyways and steals the goal from me. That is incredibly frustrating. Or a teammate will try to steal it, fail, and then the other one taps it in for a goal and I get no points for being the one who actually tried to get it in initially. A lot of times my approach doesn't give me a lot of points since I just provide a nice setup and I had cases where they mess up the plays and then end up scoring when the assist won't count and then they start mocking my low point score. The team aspect is lost on a lot of people who don't pay attention to the more subtle aspects of the game.
@farleydbear2 жыл бұрын
ur weird. "I just want to win" "Steals the goal from me" "I get no points" i dont even want to refute you, ur weird. people who say they are tactitians in games usually just means they suck.

Something that doesn’t get covered at all that i feel is crucial, is the difference between xbox controllers and PS controllers. People always say preference, but i feel theres a significant difference. Im in no position to give advice, these are just what ive found thorough my own testing Tldr; i feel go PS4 when you want more efficiency, but xbox is a good start because of avilability First; they are different sizes; xbox being way larger than PS. This is significant for people with smaller hands. On xbox, its harder to have that same grip that virge showed in the video, and therefore PS is better. When you want to access all the buttons Ive seen PS controllers way more than xbox controllers, and many use the same layout as virge. But boost on RB is NOT the same, xbox ones require more effort to press than PS ones. But the bulge of the xbox controller buttons make roll off easier, (with boost on B and jump on A). So layouts will not be the same. On the flip side, i feel like xbox controllers have better analog sticks, because they are stiffer and allow more control for those who get jittery during a match (maybe its just me though). The triggers as well are easier to press when tou want to quickly break or accelerate because they are larger and have a hooked bottom. Biggest downfall of PS controller though is that insane price if you dont have a machine, and its a BIG investment with really little payoff if all you play is RL. Overal PS controllers are meta for a reason; they are very efficient and more comfortable. But that comfort comes at a very real cost. As i said earlier, these are my findings and i have no basis of being right, but when I was a new player this is what I wanted to know and its still very scarce to find good current information. as I am an Xbox controller player, this could very well be a “grass is always greener on the other side” situation. But thats why it should be covered with a proper analysis. With all these tips for new players videos popping up, I hope this discussion is brought to light

The thing about teamwork at lower ranks like gold(me) is that most golds are not good enough to read the ball or be in the right position for a pass or have the skill to follow up on the pass. And yes I need to work on these skills also but it is hard to get better at teamwork at lower levels so you develop the mindset that you have to do everything yourself and then you get higher up and you ball chase and are a horrible teammate because u HAD to do everything yourself at lower ranks.

10:40 BIG thing about watching players better than you: I watch Squishy religiously. Since i started playing, and he is GOD tier. Watching pros will not help as much to impact your own gameplay. I found watching players on twitch that are one or two ranks above you is what helps most. Seeing pros play each other doesn't help as much BECSAUSE the speed and dependability of touches from team8s and opponents are not going to be the same as your games in gold or plat..or diamond or champ or gc even.

one thing I find super helpful in freeplay as a new player is to drive around trying to jump off weird places to get your car it weird spots and try and recover and drift properly to maintain your speed while hitting the ball any time you can *while using ball cam and ALWAYS keeping your eye on the ball* Before I spent so much time in freeplay either ball or car cam just staring at my car while doing everything, and then I get into a match and dont do anything I learned bc my focus in on the ball. I wish someone had mentioned this to me before I figured it out myself.

Thanks so much Virge, this is great!! I'm a brand new coach/advisor for a Middle School ESports team. What would you suggest for daily and/or weekly practice routines that I can give the kids?? They have varying levels of experience, but most of them have never played on an Esports Team before- this is our very first team ever for our school, so we're making history!!! Looking forward to learning how to coach from the best! :) Idea for Future Videos: Maybe a "For Esports Coaches" channel? How to structure practices, prep the team for tournaments, evaluate game play, improve individual players to better the team, etc. A lot of amateur Coaches are teachers that have after-school programs for kids but they don't actually play the game; They're more like Club Advisors. Would be super helpful for brand new coaches like me to learn from your expertise and line up activities to help our kids improve!
