I just saw Beyonce in concert. She killed it on Flaws n All.

hi, i am a tenor, i can do the Crescendos-Diminuendos smoothly below E4, but above E4 i just can't get rid of cracking when I transforming from soft to loud, or loud to soft, and there is no middle ground between those dynamic, any tips? have a nice day :)

kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5W8lXymfa6XY9k&ab_channel=BecomingaNaturalSinger ^Can't begin to explain how important this video/channel is for male vocalists. I used to be in the exact same spot as you, word for word. 3 months later and I've got C2-C6 on lock. This dude saved my life singing wise.

If it's so important, I wish you could have shown us how to improve it.

In your car, on the street, anywhere you are, do the singing he's doing from 1:58. You don't need lyrics. Play with the crescendos and diminuendos until it sounds more and more beautiful. What he's doing is a great tool to develop control of the notes which is a big thing in singing well.

Currently taking voice lessons. I'm having so much difficulty not with the transition from soft to loud, but that when I do go from soft to loud I use more air. My vocal teacher tells me I should use the same exact amount of air regardless of how loud or soft I sing. Is this true?

You actually need to deliver more air pressure to your vocal folds in order to sing louder, the trick is in controlling that pressure. So yes you will have to push more from your diaphram, but at the same time be mindful of how much air you're letting out. You are probably familiar with breath control exercises and they will work wonders, trust me. For me personally the higher I go the less air I tend to use, or at least that's the feel I am going for.
