So a quick list of chase cam tips: 1) Start with the camera pointing up, top towards the wing, at your feet 2) Shorten the V-bridle to be smaller than the camera 3) Attach the bridle near the top, not the sides 4) Add a small section of bungee cord for less shock and shake 5) Balance the chase cam slightly up, and aim the camera up 6) Use a shorter screw on the camera 7) Wrap something around the chase cam between the camera and body to stop tangles, like a sock! Have any more tips? Drop them down below and I'll try them!

Great tips. Just got to get one now

I ditched the standard GoPro thumb screw and just used a regular metric screw and screw driver.

I tried that too, still got tangled, and then was less convenient to take the camera off the mount.

@@AveryFlies I just leave the mount attached to the birdie. But I do like your sock idea 👍 Simple and functional

I'm connecting mine at 3 points. Two lines at the sides of the camera and one line at the end of the cone. Lines goes at the knot with main line. With 3 points I can set exact angle, no pitch and roll.

Make sure you take into account the line is towed at nearly 45⁰, if the line at the rear is too taught it'll spin your camera around and tumble it

Man that DLE sounds like an angry hornet 🤣

Yeah, it screams. The engine itself is actually pretty quiet, the prop just has to spin so fast to make enough thrust.

How long is the cord that attaches to the wing?
@AveryFlies2 жыл бұрын
I've tried a few different lengths, the one that has worked best for me is slightly longer than the length of the lines and the cage, so basically from your feet up to the wing. Comes out to something like 20 ft. Slightly higher risk of prop strike on landing but you get a much better angle and less likely to swing into you on launch
