I used to concern myself with several different techniques for different shots. I didn't get anything remotely close to consistent until I started to take it my wrists and use the clock face for distance control. I understand pro players can get very wristy, but I am not a pro player. I guess it's just like Nike vs. Nik-E, is doesn't really matter as long as you accomplish a goal.

So many different opinions on pitching and chipping…..I have seen other videos that stress NOT TO lean shaft forward because it engages the leading edge and takes away the bounce. I have tried it all and my realization is I SUCK😆

Hi Pete, I like the video and use both techniques but recently had a lesson off a former European Tour player who preferred having the one technique and when I said I used the 2nd technique for height he said he prefers simply opening the face than being too hingy- what's your thoughts?
@mitchellblades36798 жыл бұрын
wouldn't recommend it for a new player, more of an advanced method because the flick of the wrists is feel and happens quite naturally you shouldn't really have to think about it.

What do you think of the video roger cleveland did with buzz about chipping saying to really rotate your forearms?

And how does the hinge and hold fit into these two techniques?

another great video pete! thanks to you I have finally broken 90. I was looking at a hispeed video of my swing and I noticed that at the top of my backswing my left elbow bends to about a 150 ish degree angle. this causes me to go a bit past parallel. it straightens right out in the downswing. I was wondering if this was bad or will affect my consistency on any way? should I work keeping my arm straighter? It only happens with my driver also.

Hey Peter, might you please explain the different effect (ball flight and landing) in this wrist video and that in/about hitting the wedges like Jason Day. Thank you very much in advance. andy

Interesting vid Pete. The second Y-shape you mention concerns me a bit. As I understand it, the classic method is meant to reduce the bounce on a 56 deg wedge and allow the ball to roll up the club face, whereas the reverse Y is just going to be leading edge, bullet-over-the-back hell. Did you move the ball position when you hit the second higher flighted shot? Back in stance maybe? Face slightly closed to path?

I have just watched one of your recent vids 'improve your pitching - wrist position- golf short game tips. I have also seen previous ones on short game when you advise to open up feet and hips to the left of target but shoulders square to ball. Just a bit confused on which is best? Thanks keep up the good work. 👍

Been struggling with consistency with my spin chipping. I Used the Y technique 4 times today and almost holed two, and 3 out of the 4 were just tap in's. Going to be working more with this over the next couple weeks. Great tip Pete

Peter another great video, keep them coming. It is a great way to explain and demonstrate the two different chip shots. The next time I am practising I 'll try them both.

I use the hinge and hold method which generates a lot of spin but can be a bit hit and miss when I'm not quite on my game.. I should learn other methods and I'll try these two I think.. Thanks Pete

Pete are the AW and SW that match your set of irons worth getting or would you recommend different ones?....reasons?
@Cornwall18888 жыл бұрын
Specialised wedges will have better shafts better grooves give you more loft, bounce, sole and grind options and are more useful from many different types of lies. It depend how seriously you take golf and how much money you're willing to spend, you won't see a wedge from and iron set in the pga tour

Pete, every time I chip or pitch on to the green I get unnecessary spin, any tips on how to avoid it? Thanks in advance

Shallow out your angle of attack, higher launch but lower spin.

use less loft. ball wont grind against the grooves as much and will get more roll out...your welcome
