The dynamics of weight transfer and demonstration of arm/palm movements are perfect. I have never thought about this and have never seen it explained so succinctly. I have just had total knee joint replacement and I look forward to trying this out in 6 months time - a good one for the memory bank!

Absolute genius. This makes so much sense. I was at a large tennis academy. Bethpage. And had this problem and nobody could help me. Thank you

As usual, Steve is just brilliant. This indeed is a very simple fundamental but very difficult to learn and execute. I believe that probably the only thing more difficult than learning tennis is teaching it. And Steve makes it looks like it's no big deal.

@@oneminutetennis Steve can't find entry box for new post (very odd) so forced to post here. From this video you're saying then that tossing arm should start to drop same time as the racket starts to drop down correct? My question then... where does the increase in racket speed come from. The rocking of the shoulders or the inertia of the body uncoiling forward from the hip into the court (thus into the ball). I'll watch it again maybe I can pick up the key point of the lesson. Very awkward posting on your page tonight not seen this before(no entry box for new post) .

@Richibald1 hi. It's a combination. Within the confines of about 1m . No matter what the height of the ball toss, the momentum created by the leg drive will coincide with the raising of the shoulders and blend with the throw off the racket. It's present in every good service action. I just think that focusing on the hands makes it easy to combine a large number of movements. Does that make sense

@@oneminutetennis perfectly! Thank you Steve and appreciate why you choose to keep it straight forward . Just watched a year old video of a forehand slice and it reminded me me to ask you do a segment (long or short video) on what I call a scallop shot. It's a defensive recovery from a shot barely in reach Steve. It's like a lob/ forehand slice which many pro tour players are using often now to bail them out of an attack. It looks like a last ditch scoop of the ball with a curved undercut of the ball that often goes quite high over the net at lob heighth baseline to baseline affording precious time to get back into position. Frankly don't know what to call it but highly effective defense shot compelling the opponent to "try again" using up precious energy. Lots of pros use this to great advantage to get out of trouble effectively returning to center of baseline 👍👌 Have a great weekend coach enjoyed another timely tip thank you from an admirer, difficult explanation made to look easy. I'm finally able to toss with just the ball spineless only in cupped fingers and my kick serve improving also. Keep up the great work please, helpful more than you can imagine, much appreciated! 👏

I just focus on keeping my tossing arm up longer. Added benefit is greater pre stretch to gain more power.
