Yes Sillica Gel (this packets inside purchases that say do not eat) are to keep moisture out of your purchase…

The product in the small white bag is silica gel. It absorbs any moisture that might be in the package. We used to have a coffee jar full of it in the Microphone cupboard of our church. Best way to get water out of a microphone (which is a thing that can happen over time and is like a cannon going off when it finally affects the operation of the microphone). Just push the mic into the silica gel beads until it covers the mic capsule. Now you know...

I use an interface for place where I want to run multiple mics and dont need stereo out. Like 2 mics on a grand piano to hit several places but only take up 1 input on the board.
