Thanks for the great tips, especially on form when running with a jogging stroller! I wish I had known these things with my first baby, but it’s good to learn now that I’m starting to run with my second baby in preparation for a 5K with him in the stroller next month. He is about 4.5 months old and was already over 20 pounds at his 4-month checkup (he’s a big strong boy! 😅), so I’m pushing around 48-50 pounds (stroller is 27.5 pounds) in addition to my own (still heavier) postpartum weight. 😅 This will be good info for avoiding strain and injuries. 😁 I just finished your 12-week postpartum plan and am ready to get back to running more often again! 😊

Thanks mama. Great tips! I especially like getting a bit of extra credit points for pushing a stroller. My watch likes to turn off and say I am not running/walking at all because I'm pushing a stroller and even though it's a small thing it can really irritate me because I am actually doing more work, not less.

Great video! I’m wrapping up the 12 week postpartum plan now and just starting some stroller running. I really enjoy the runs with my babe so far 😊. I’m looking to possibly start the 10 minute plan next. Is it necessary to purchase a box for that plan. Do you have any box recommendations?
@glowbodypt Жыл бұрын
Jessica congrats on finishing up my 12 Week Post Pregnancy Plan right now!! This says so much about you. Take 2-3 weeks unstructured in between plans. Then start the 10 Minute Plan. You ONLY need dumbbells for the 10 Minute Plan...but it's nice to have a box. I use it for Booty Finisher 3 (of course you could use a chair, too). I have a Rogue box, and highly recommend for durability. I also think you'll be so happy that the 10 Minute Plan comes with 2 x bonus runner plans! And the recipes are amazingggg. Easy, no-fuss, delicious, nutritious, they are just so good when feeding kiddos too.

Jaymi, I feel for you having shin splints and admire you for wanting to be a runner as a mother because it takes discipline and motivation-- clearly you have both. First watch this video to immediately address your shin splints: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIK6m2doo9ibadE Second, it sounds like you need *injury prevention* woven into your routine. But I imagine you are busy as a mom and don't want to exercise for much time. My 10 Minute Plan is ultra-time efficient and will tighten, tone, burn fat, add definition, and weave in the exact runner-specific injury prevention you need as a mother-runner! www.glowbodypt.com/10minuteplan It also comes with 2 bonus runner plans, too. But even with the 42 X time-efficient super-burny workouts AND my top 30 family friendly recipes that come with it, it's amazing and you can use these routines as you wish on top of your running or in place of it on days or weeks when you don't run at all.

Your stroller should NOT be wobbling! Good for you for noticing this red flag. You could try locking it to be straight position (really easy, the knob is on the front wheel) and if that does not work, bring it to a bike shop. What distance run are you preparing for?

How old should baby be when you start running with them?
@glowbodypt3 жыл бұрын
Depends on your normal running surface (track, paved sidewalk that's nice and smooth?) these options are the best for a smooth ride that puts baby right to sleep and is less "bumpy" than rocking your baby to sleep! If you're limited to bumpy trail gravel you'll need to wait MUCH longer, til baby's head is stable. I ease into walk run intervals on my 12 Week Post Pregnancy Plan as early as 9 weeks postpartum but stick to track terrain til baby is older. Any stroller pamphlet will tell you to wait til at least 6 months old, but again, depends on surface and ensuring you have a carseat insert.

Front wheel swivel is not safe for anything faster than walking, read all stroller user manuals! Always run with fixed wheel even on smooth ground. The swivel wheel can get knocked of course and cause the stroller to topple when used at speed.
@glowbodypt3 жыл бұрын
I've run with 2 different jogging strollers and I'm not sure if you meant the swivel wheel can get knocked of course or if you mean "off course" but regardless, I haven't had this happen with the BOB or Phil and Teds. Sure, read your stroller manuals but this video is my personal experience and would be miserable trying to navigate a stroller on a track with a locked front wheel.
@garethosborne63713 жыл бұрын
@@glowbodypt I agree is harder to manage with the locked wheel, I have twins in a Thule chariot but most people will run on public paths, running trails etc were the ground is not smooth unlike the track. This can cause the stroller to tip over if the front wheel gets knocked from straight by a stone or dip in the ground . Safely first
