FPV drone throttle control can be very tricky to master. I recently discovered this drill, and it really seems to help train the skill. I've actually started to notice a difference in my throttle control and freestyle trick skills! Bonus flight video at the end! :)
Got any other ideas like this to improve your skills? I'd love to hear them! Let me know in the comments down below!

Please please please make a trick/drill/routine series. Your approach towards drone flight phenomenons seems to be very scientific and easily understandable. Would love to practice other drills to master flying. Great flying as always, never stop helping other pilots too 🎉.

It's VERY difficult to find a good tutorials/hints for FPV pilots. A lot of people flying very well, but they just can't explain how, cause they can't teach properly. Even if they want. But not you! Thanks for the video, you're really good at explaining stuff like that. keep up the good work. Subscribed.

and can i give you a little advise with filming? Lock your exposure and ISO. 10:00-10:05 you can see the problem with that (and not only there). If your camera able to lock this parameters of course

I'm glad you chose the rewind as the drill. Not only will it help people improve IMO, but it is a trick/maneuver that looks so sweet when done smoothly and properly that the pilot will enjoy smoothing it out after 60 reps instead of a boring maneuver that'll just cause lost interest in doing the work, letting ADD take over practice, turning it into a jam session instead of real practice. Kudos on this one buddy.

Thanks for the kind words! Rewinds combine a bit of everything to look good, most of all throttle & momentum control! This just seems to make you much more comfortable super low to the ground.

Throttle management is king, will have to give this a go next time I'm out cheers. What helped me when I first started flying for any newer pilots reading, is doing races in the simulator. Because it forces you to hit gates/gaps that you probably aren't comfortable with to begin with. I wasn't aiming to win races to start with, just to be able to finish without crashing and after a while you will be winning every race. Even if you aren't interested in racing at all, it will make you a better pilot overall. Its a long road and I still got a long ways to go as well, but FPV is a skill game that only time spent in the air will improve so keep sending it.

Great tip. I'm actually starting to do those too, and I've also noticed the improvement in throttle control. Really makes you be precise when you're flying through a small gate at 60mph!

Great plan! I've found this to be one of the most clear ways the sim feels legit different than IRL. I think the momentum for your specific quad just isn't accurately represented in the sims- even if you play with the weight. But its still excellent practice to get the general feel down! Thankfully we have sims these days to save us money!

Another tip can be cornering really low / (fast / medium slow) as you are in a park and following a painted line (preferably right angles) if you mess up you will be hopping if you are two low you will crash into the grass (5 inch should be fine unless you are going really fast). You can up the anti on concrete but it can be harder to find painted lines but a path or road can work. If you are clipping your front props and cutting them down you are just a little low fly a few cm higher.

@propabilityfpv
@propabilityfpv 7 ай бұрын
I use between 20-25. I think that gives a good mix of speed and ability to do most tricks. It also seems to be a good midrange angle that works in almost all spots.

Almost 40 hours on some simulators and I'm still struggling at a map like Minus Two - Liftoff. Either hitting the ceiling or crashing. I'm gonna try this drill on the simulator.
@propabilityfpv
@propabilityfpv 2 ай бұрын
To be fair, that map can be pretty challenging! Hopefully this drill helps build that understanding of your drone’s momentum! If not, you might also want to look into tiny whoops. They’re super sensitive to throttle changes and they kind of force you to learn it. Plus you can fly inside all year!

Hey man, you used to run a XL 5 frame right? How is the AOS compared to that? Durability and smooth flying. Oh and thanks for this much needed video
@propabilityfpv
@propabilityfpv 6 ай бұрын
Yep, I moved to the AOS when I switched to digital. The AOS does feel very locked in, especially after tuning. But the durability doesn’t seem to be as good as the XL5. The thinner arms are a big downside for durability, but the motors are protected very well- haven’t broken a single bell yet! It probably isn’t the best choice for a Bando basher though!

which is the best throttle expo to practice this? default?
@propabilityfpv
@propabilityfpv 7 ай бұрын
I'd recommend doing this, and any other freestyle practice at the expo you'd use when actually flying freestyle. I've found if you start tinkering with it being different settings all the time, it tends to hold you back because you're always adjusting to a new "feel". There's exceptions to everything of course but I think that's a solid plan in general. That being said, I personally use .20-.30 for all of my freestyle flying-practice or not. The only time I'll ever change it is if I'm doing some very specific type of flying- like for a client or something. Other than that I leave it alone and just focus on improving my skill with the same settings. Hope that helps!
