Improving fingerprint reader on Pixel 6 & 6 Pro

Not having the best reliability when utilizing the fingerprint reader on the new pixel 6 or 6 Pro? Follow the steps in this video to improve it.

To fix the fingerprint scanner, Go to development options. Scroll down animation scale turn off all of them except the top one window animation scale on a Google pixel pro 6 works fine now

I heard so many bad things about the sensor and yes this phone is far from perfect, but I find the finger print sensor to be amazing. It's 100 times better than my galaxy s20+ was. I never have to do it more than once. On the s20+ i would hit it 5 times and hope i wouldn't have to put in my password.

I certainly noticed my accuracy improving over time with the Pixels fingerprint reader. I think some bug fixes that have released as well have probably helped.

Me too. I don't care that much about speed as much as I do about accuracy. The pixel lets me in 9/10 times. My note 20U was a 5/10 on a good day.

It's only speeds up the animation, not the actual unlocking speed.

Hey I have another tip, basically Go to settings and you wanna look up 'optimise battery usage' then head on over there select the option on top right for all apps then search biometric and you should see an option then select don't optimise that should help with the speed of the fingerprint scanner

@@Ang417 we've seen this is in the past, optical finger print sensors don't work with tempered glass screen protectors (for the most part), but it will work on something like a matte plastic screen protector.

You don't have to register 2 fingerprint just lock and unlock your phone frequently will using fingerprint to unlock or use app lock on every app use fingerprint to unlock the app just use it for 1 or 2 days you will notice your indisplay fingerprint will recognize your finger print faster This tip is for every indisplay fingerprint user (This works for me so try it good luck)

Add the fingerprint then add it again with wet hands, (not dripping wet just damp) works great it's all in the way you press your finger on the sensor

For me on my S10+, which also has an in-display fingerprint sensor, when setting up I did two calibrations, each calibration going a half-circle with my thumb. The sensor works first try everytime!

Not just Pixel, even another Phone also works for this tips. But the result every phone is not same. Some phone may increase the fingerprint sensor but some phone may little bit decrease fingerprint sensor. Some phone too may hard when use this tips

You don’t need to wake up the phone to unlock it just place your finger on the finger scanner even with screen off and it will unlock.

This is another thing that I wish was better on the pixel. It doesn't get overly bright in direct sunlight. Pulling down the notifications and adjusting the brightness bar is really all that can be done.

Standard manual 100% brightness tops out at 500 nits. Put it in auto brightness and it will have a new max brightness of almost 900 nits - bright enough for the most direct of sunlight.

I would just leave, but tip №2 just kinda useless, i use Redmi 9 which has hardware sensor on the back, and it works every time, i have only one finger registered, you could just position your finger so that it either overlaps just a little with previous scan, or just do as in second tip, although i think that those fingerprints take up some space on the phone

Actually I found just keeping your fingers in any state other than dry works the best. I'll just wipe a little oil off the side of my nose or rub my arm because I know the work that I do makes my hands very dry and that's the only time I have a issue with it
