As a Nuggets fan and having talked to a lot of Nuggets fans the past several days, this playoffs has been frustrating to say the least. It feels like the Nuggets have lost a lot of that burning desire that propelled them to a championship last year. The desire to prove everyone wrong and get their first chip was nowhere to be seen this year. The sluggish and sloppy plays, the lack of defensive rebounding and boxing out were evident of this. Everyone that I've talked to basically agreed that it felt they forgot they were playing playoff basketball until the fourth quarter started for a lot of this playoffs. I'm happy that Minnesota knocked us out this year, they clearly want it. I just hope that the Nuggets can reignite that desire to win heading into next season.
@zknashle5 ай бұрын
You guys were super solid, but I think a lot of the sluggishness shown by your starters just came from having such a tight rotation. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think there were 8 nuggets players played game 7 and jokic only got a minute of rest. It kinda showed with the lack of hustle on boards towards the end. You guys will find some bench depth in the off-season and be right back to the top 🤞 good looks

It seems that what decided the series was the depth of the teams. Timberwolves had more players contributing compaired to the nuggets. If the role players aint hitting it and you aint got a bench it's going to be difficult. Not one star player played well every 48 minutes every game. Everyone has their moments in which they dont score. In those moments others take over and if you don't have the right supporting cast it's over.

In short, Ant is closer to Jordan than MPJ is to Mchale/Bird. Jokic takes that Bird role nicely but Gordon isn't Mchale or Parish just a big body dunker and open shooter that's about it. The Nuggets forwards while big aren't as big as Wolves forwards and they can't create many of their own shots so it's up to Jokic to play fundamental with no errors for them to fight against this type of defense. Denver's guards aren't athletic enough to deal with Ant's speed and his shooting is only getting better. Murray got exposed because Mike Conley is a super underrated player that can play like Lillard with defense sometimes and in all the Wolves still have a controlled offense with plenty of size and skill and Jokic doesn't have the will to take it further and win against a team better than his.
