Multiple times Jorg ran Magnussen off track out of turn 1. Mags was clearly quicker and the move was made harder when everytime he got alongside he was shoved off. Mags passed in the pit exit, but rightly so gave the spot back. Then into the final corner clearly Jorg was trying to slow up the apex to prevent a potential cutback and parked it while Magnussen took the corner normally. Watch any other lap and see how much slower the Porsche was through that corner on that lap. He tried to prevent Magnussen from getting alongside which in reality gave him the opportunity. To which Jorg would run Magnussen into the wall and at that point put his life in danger. Wasn't the most top notch driving from either side but was significantly dirty from the Porsche. Still, one of the best battles in GT history. Still wishing the Porsche didn't do that and we got a photo finish.

Well, it's 2017, and the Corvette v Porsche Wars seem to have no end! I will admit Corvette has had the better cars since, though.

Jeez, I remember watching this in high school. Great battle, I remember being quite shocked by cutting into pit lane (and even more so at the end of it all), thanks for uploading!

Lost in this GT2 finish was a 2008-style P1 vs P2 battle between Simon Pagenaud in the XM DeFerran ARX-02 and Adrian Fernandez in the Lowe's ARX-01 which would be the last race for both of those teams... too bad that couldn't have been the style of racing all season in Prototype. I think the Isobuthanol fueled Dyson Racing Mazda-Lola led this race for a while as well. God I miss SPEED.

Those Corvettes, man! Times have changed, though. Back then, they were CLEARLY faster than the Porsche. Today, Corvette is not the best car, but they still win! It's the strangest thing! These days, they just run in the middle of the pack all the way until the end. Then, like, out of NOWHERE, a Corvette is in the lead!! They win more on strategy and reliability today.

One of my favorite road races that I've ever seen since first watching in 2003. Jan just nudged Joerg...didn't wreck him and Joerg flips out to wreck Jan. I know it's road racing and there should be give-and-take; but, come on it was the last lap...all bets are off. Nothing wrong with doing a bump and run (with exception of not doing it in open-wheel cars) on the last lap, last turn. It would have been nice to see a drag race to the finish line instead of Joerg wrecking him. I would have been hot under the collar if I was Jan, could have hurt him with an impact like that.

+IMSA Official awww come on, IMSA. This is not a good version of this video. Isn't there better source? In the 7 years I have been watching this since I watched the live race, this current appears as a bad video. Is it still encoding?

7:30 porche got the rear lose and hit john off the track. dirty move he was already next to him and has lots of room to the left but wanted the inside line for the next turn. but the pass was already being made he had already lost that line. Very dirty "win"

DAMN! That crash was all on the Porsche. Corvette was gunning for him and he was running cleaner and faster. Porsche was just blocking him out and caused the crash. Good battle, bad attitude.

The only thing that was truly unsafe was the pass in the pit lane exit. the rest of it was just hard racing with some intentional slow speeds through a few corners…that’s just racing

Disreputable moment for IMSA. When the officials don't do their job (exhibit A, 7:30), racers take matters into their own hands (exhibit B, 8:39). Everyone loses (except the controversy loving media).

everybody saying fuck Jan for making that move but youre all too stupid to realize that it's a risky attack move that drivers do all the time. theres always gonna be contact in racing. sometimes its a racing incident, sometimes its a avoidable contact that will get a driver penalized. jan CLEARLY had a faster car and had better pace, but Bergmesiter was defending that position extremely well. so as a last ditch effort, he tried the bump and run against someone who wasn't gonna put up with that AGAIN mind you, because it happened to him at sebring and ended up P2 I think. remember "IF YOU AINT RUBBIN YOU AINT RACIN!"
