Great video, thank you. I love my Imsai but I would never have sorted out my webcam without knowing your tip on chrome flags. So that works fine now.....

I just got on Dave's list to snag one of these, hopefully in a couple of months. Can't wait to build it and mount an old school knife switch on top of it as the power switch.

Where did you get the kermit program from? I have found it in my comms disk image but it has no port files (uc1) on it?
@RTSRetroTechShed2 жыл бұрын
Hi John. The version of Kermit that I am using on the IMSAI 8080 esp is the one that is included on the comms.dsk image, I just copied it to the hard drive I:. You can ignore the files in the directory listing on my I: drive, there are some test files on there also named UC1 - but not needed at all. So long as the WiFi modem is configured on the IMSAI 8080 esp (which it is by default), then it should work. On other systems (other than IMSAI 8080 esp), the port may be different. After starting Kermit on the IMSAI 8080 esp from the comms.dsk image, the commands are: set port uc1 connect Here is the directory listing for the comms.dsk image I am using: B>dir B: QT-IMSAI COM : QT-IMSAI ASM : QTERM DOC : QT-IMSAI PRN B: KERMIT COM : XMODEM COM : QTERM PAT : XMODEM ASM B: XMODEM CFG : QTCHAT DOC : README TXT : QT-IMSAI HEX B>

@@RTSRetroTechShed Thanks, but as soon as I press a key after connecting I just get an error message.

Hi John. After connecting (to the WiFi modem on port uc1), the only valid commands will be AT commands - and these must be upper case. If you just trying issuing an AT at the prompt, followed by return - you should get an OK back.

@@RTSRetroTechShed That helped albeit it sometimes will enter extra characters. Tried amstrad.simulant.uk:464 but it returns "no answer" so I guess it's off-line.

Hi John. Did you try dialling using ATD or ATDT? ATDT will respond with "no answer". Try using ATDamstrad.simulant.uk:464

When you run MBasic you seem to have 34872 bytes free, mine only shows 24632 and runs out of memory when trying to load your wargames.bas file, even when booting from your wargames.dsk. What configuration mode do you load on the IMSAI Esp?

Try this disk image: github.com/zompiexx/wargames/blob/main/BASIC/wargames_cpm22_64.dsk - I've tested it on my setup. If that still doesn't work, let me know and I can share my system.conf and boot.conf, but will need to be via a Github ticket

Is there an easy way to copy folders and files from my windows PC to the CPM image on the IMSAI SD card? I'd like to add a couple of FORTRAN compilers to CPM. Thanks.

Hi. To be accessible to CP/M, they need to be disk images (.dsk). I usually copy these across via the browser, not sure I've ever tried copying them to the SD. You might want to try posting on the forum and asking the question there: groups.google.com/g/imsai8080esp
