John and Shea! Genuinely the best commentator pair in motorsports, you make races so, so enjoyable! Cheers guys! :D

John Hindhaugh is to motorsports what Phil Ligget is to Cycling. Neither sport would be quite the same without them.

That no headlight Florida driver comment was so accurate. My wife points out people driving with their lights off every time we go out at night.

I call them phantom cars. The dang running lights are so bright people don't realise.
@Caml39 сағат бұрын
It's everywhere. I'm a few states away and see it all the time. It's just a function of full-time DRLs and dashboard illumination. If there's any decent ambient lighting, people just don't notice that their lights aren't on.

First, YAY for Shea at least for this series; so happy for her in her new role, but she'll be missed on IMSA commentary. Second, weren't the qualifying penalties assessed for exceeding *maximum* lap times, not minimum? They were below minimum SPEEDS, which meant their times were beyond the MAXIMUM allowed.
@Indykeebler14 сағат бұрын
Does she have to leave IMSA pit lane reporting?
@Indykeebler14 сағат бұрын
That would be weird to get penalized on going too fast in a qualifying session.
@Yesterzine14 сағат бұрын
@@Indykeebler Yes, pitlane reports for those races are hired by IMSA and she resigned from the role to take the Mazda one. She will be in the pits for the Bathurst 12 hours.
@Indykeebler13 сағат бұрын
@@Yesterzine that’s a bummer for the pit lane coverage but happy for her nonetheless. She’s so good. Surprised they won’t let her do both since John still does both if I’m not mistaken.

44:46 I’m sorry, are not going to talk about how on-brand it is for the lightning mcqueen Miata to hit a KA-CHOW during the race lol
I understand if IMSA wants to do a second formation lap for safety reasons, but the clock shouldn't start at the end of the first lap. At a big track like Daytona we miss out on almost 4 minutes of racing. Start the clock when they take the green!

The reason is money bruh, fuel.
@12th.jahlilКүн бұрын
They run a tight weekend schedule, and going overtime at a track such as daytona costs alot of money
@jagganthaКүн бұрын
@@12th.jahlil I get that the schedule can be a challenge and that facilities and staff are expensive. But they also did it last year in (I think) all of the Lamborghini Trofeo races. IMSA "planned" those into the schedule... This race was an anomaly because of the last minute tire change, of course. I just don't want to see it become commonplace.

I rarely care for a female race announcers, but this Lady did a great job. Knows her stuff and was way more knowledgeable, funny and engaged than the others. I dunno who she is, but good job.

I felt the same. It feels like they usually just throw them in just because they are a woman. This one definitely deserves her spot

I agree. You can tell she wasn’t hired just to say they have a female lead announcer. She knows her stuff

Off topic, but are you running in the MX-5 cup race event at Daytona this weekend Sally? I follow Heather Hadley (IRacing friend), and I I happened to notice a McNulty in the standings also. If that was you, I hope you had fun and good luck in race 2. 😃
