Why would Lily's ex-husband be such a dick to her? That just doesn't make sense. And why would Kyle be so hesitant to heal his cousin who's in a coma? These characters are written like sensless idiots as sloppy plot devices to create dramatic conflict where there shouldn't be any. This show looks like it's chock-full of dumb, lazy writing.
