a great show. When Reuben had to reap his own daughter....tears
@Danioton8 ай бұрын
Rube didn't reap his daughter. A reaper friend of his let him know of her impending death so he could be there. His daughter recognized him in his reaper form implying that sometime in their past she met him as a reaper. In other words just as George was 'haunting' her family, in particular Reggie, Rube must have done something to interact with his daughter before he shut off all contact with them. Whatever happened it was bad enough that he never contacted them again, and it made him very angry about George's attempts to spy on her own family.
@richard33658 ай бұрын
@@Danioton They didn't beat the audience over the head with it, but it was explained in like the third episode. The more you interact with your past life, the more you lose your memories of that past life. Like when George tries to tell her mother a story so she knows who she is, and then she forgets that specific memory she was trying to tell her mom. Rube even commented on it after that happened, implying that it had happened to him and he had decided long ago that keeping the memories were more important than trying to reconnect.

Season 1 only has 14 episodes ... and there's a direct-to-DVD movie, called Dead Like Me: Life After Death, that came out about 4 years later, basically the group is dealing with how to make everything still work after Rube gets his lights (before the movie starts). Personally, I thought it was a pretty good wrap-up of a prematurely cancelled show. It also wraps up how George's family have dealt with, and ultimately moved on from, her death.
