Wouldn't it have made more sense for the original Jack and Victoria to be killed outright, so there's no memory to be wiped, and the clones can be aged appropriately?
@CorviknightCoffee3 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure that was implied. Jack 49 is likely another clone and not the original
@mish3752 жыл бұрын
Jack and Victoria were killed when they entered the Tet. The Tet cloned both of them, assuming they were husband and wife. It didn't realize that Jack's real wife was in the hibernation pod. The memories he has are leftovers from his original self. My headcannon on why the clones are destroyed and replaced every 5 years or so is because the clones will slowly start to remember bits and pieces about their original's lives. The memory erase process isn't permanent. This is why the Tet recalls them and then they're simply replaced with a new batch of clones.
@charlesludwig86722 жыл бұрын
@@CorviknightCoffee probably clone 49, meaning the 48 clones before him signal 200 - 250 years passing (assuming 5 years for each clone lifespan), with the clones not really remembering the time period.
@maregondrako2 жыл бұрын
@@charlesludwig8672 I assumed the number was based on the part of the world they operate in, since 49 and 52 were in adjacent zones, and each time the clones were killed off, a new set of Jack-xx were sent down and told they'd be sent to titan in a few years
@mish3752 жыл бұрын
@@charlesludwig8672 I think you're slightly off on the year because we know some clones are living and working simultaneously in different zones on Earth. If we knew how many Earth zones and Jack clones the Tet has running missions at one time, then we might get a better idea of how much time has passed. But I agree, it's probably been at least over a hundred years.

I wonder why the moon exploding would make any mass damage to earth. After all, the mass is still there in space. The gravity is still the same because no mass is lost. I can understand some changes, but nothing huge that would just happen over a few days to the point of making humans unable to adapt.
@Lemark403 жыл бұрын
1. Nights would be much, much darker. The next brightest object in the night sky is Venus. But it still wouldn't be enough to light up the sky. A full moon is nearly two thousand times brighter than Venus is at its brightest. 2. Without the moon, a day on earth would only last six to twelve hours. There could be more than a thousand days in one year! That's because the Earth's rotation slows down over time thanks to the gravitational force -- or pull of the moon -- and without it, days would go by in a blink. 3. A moonless earth would also change the size of ocean tides -- making them about one-third as high as they are now. 4. Forget about seeing any lunar eclipses -- or any solar eclipses -- without the moon, there would be nothing to block the sun. 5. Without a moon the tilt of our earth's axis would vary over time. This could create some very wild weather. Right now, thanks to our moon, our axis stays tilted at twenty-three point five degrees. But without the moon the earth might tilt too far over or hardly tilt at all leading to no seasons or even extreme seasons.
@kena.2113 жыл бұрын
@@Lemark40 6. Without the moon, there would be no Sailor Moon.
@mish3752 жыл бұрын
It could cause massive damage because of the severe disruption in the gravitational fields between Earth and the Moon. That could potentially cause a nuclear extinction event if large enough. Not to mention the effect a damaged moon (or one that has splintered into many pieces/rings) would have on our tides, seasons, and days. Earth's axis alone would shift severely, causing some wild weather across our planet. This explanation shows why Earth's climate has changed in Oblivion over time.
@alexmuenster21022 жыл бұрын
>>After all, the mass is still there in space.< If only 0.1% of the Moon's mass were to strike Earth, that would result in several Mass-Extinction Level Events on Earth.
