I don't think the sisters are completely horrible people. Their early years were awful. Both parents were alcoholics and then the girls got shoved into an orphanage. I have never heard of good, loving care in any orphanage! They did not grow up with him so they don't feel a bond with him probably. He did cause trouble and was drinking heavily when that one sister took him in but she had kids. I sure wouldn't want that behaviour around my kids either. I hope he can get his knee fixed and get his documents and then move on with his life, though he does need rehab and training really. It's a sad story. Alcohol has ruined millions of lives.

Agree with much of this. Another factor I think is with Sergei's channel becoming so big, the relatives of many he tries to help are likely to be subjected to masses of negative comments not only here on youtube, but also IRL from neighbours in their small towns and villages, as only one side of the story is told in the first video that gets uploaded. This might help explain some of the defensiveness/unwillingness to co-operate/strange behaviour we've seen from relatives in videos lately.

It's great that you showed kindness to this man. It's so hard for children of alcoholic parents that are then put in orphanages in Russia. As I said before, I adopted a family of 6 children from the Pskov region of Russia, and they are all full siblings. Their birthparents were alcoholics too, and the children starved and were without heat. They would be left alone at very young ages of 3 and 4 for many days while the birthparents drank. Now, these 6 children of mine are grown up, and all of them are successful. None of them drink alcohol, and they are all professionals in their job fields from scientists to business owners. I am a grandmother to 6 of their children with more to come. Their memories of Russia are difficult ones, but they are happy and free now. What you are doing for this man will make a difference in his life by giving him a chance. Thank you.

All these people judging the sister.. think on this. She did not have a parent, and she did not know her brother. She took responsibility for him when no one else would. Being a caregiver is hard work at the best of times. Caring for a person with mental illness, rebelliousness or substance abuse problems makes it even harder. This woman is raising her three children, her husband has died, she's had her brother living with her. I find it amazing and apparently its a universal expectation that caregivers should care for everyone else and deny Their own needs and in this instance.. the needs of her own children. I suspect the sisters will help to get the paperwork if only to get some freedom themselves. the fact they cared for him to more recent times is commendable. A test of endurance. This is why in the west we have 'facilities' (not enough of them obviously). A bit of fact here too.. caregivers have a shortened life expectancy.
@IAMGiftbearer7 ай бұрын
Facilities are worse. The careivers there are underpaid and since they are not relatives many of them resent taking care of someone else's. Abuse and neglect are rampant. Usually it is better to make arrangements to take care of relatives even if several family members have to take turns. Relying on facilities is not a good or safe solution. I used to work as a patient advocate to investigate those places and I have seen alot of horrendous situations. In fact I had a friend whose mother got a bedsore because she was not being turned and changed often enough and it went to the bone and killed her. That is an excruciating way to die. Imagine being left to rot in your own filth. That is inexcusable and inhumane. The elderly and disabled are treated like crap in America.

To truly be loved is to still be loved when it’s inconvenient to love you.

I think it’s important to understand that their “bad seasons” were likely much worse than yours. Additionally, they are much older, and raised in orphanages while he had their parents. These orphanages split up the children. He is like an alcoholic stranger to them. I feel for him. But those of us who are disabled (including myself) must also be held accountable for our poor behavior. Would you let me move into your home when you could barely feed and house your own children? I grew up without running water, heat, and electricity. I know survival. And sometimes blood is not thicker than water. The STATE should be caring for their brother. NOT HIS SISTERS. In my country the social services would be onto any parent who allows their children to be exposed to an alcoholic, family or not. urgh horrible family. He didn't get his documents because when he was 16 years old (a child still) his mother and him went home when they were 42nd in line in a waiting queue to sort that out so sister still blames him for it. ridiculous, she's terrible and obviously seeing she came up with that, she's just looking for excuses to make him look bad. Of cause people will judge her if they see this, she doesn't even want to try to do the right thing and help him. One thing which is obvious, she holds no love at all for her brother (she may be even jealous of him seeing he didn't grow up in the orphanage like she did).

I wish you would make these videos more about the people you're helping and less about putting their families on blast. I understand though if that's what gets the most views. I hope Vitya's doctors are able to help him regain his mobility.
@ozgal69297 ай бұрын
That is not what Sergei is doing. He is not all about views, and it is rude of you to assume this. He is simply documentíng the entire stóry, warts and all. If family wish tó act like deranged morons that is ón them. It's better that Sérgei shows us all the truth, not just glaze over it.

@@ozgal6929 I disagree 100%, so I guess you're the type of viewer he's making these videos for.

@@8_bit_Andy nobody is forcing you to watch dude seriously. There is no ñeed for any negativity about Sergei who is a wonderful human and humanitarian. What have you dóne lately to change someóñes life for the better ?
@8_bit_Andy7 ай бұрын
@@ozgal6929 I'm a pediatric physical therapist, so helping making people's lives better is pretty much my life. If you want to say Sergei is a wonderful human, I won't argue, you clearly know him personally. But you can't say he's not making the video to put Vitya's family on blast when the title is 'sisters threw a helpless brother into a barn' and not 'we help a man start his journey to being able to walk again'.

@8_bit_Andy Being a pediatric therapist is a good, well - paying job in a comfortable environment. It's hardly charitable work, nor comparable to what Sergei is doing.

Sometimes even Us disabled people need to Suck It Up and figure out a way to Do what you need to Do. I get it, im in far worse condition than him... it was my Mindset that got me going, im not one to be defeated, I knew I had a long road ahead of me, knew it would take time, Years even, and it did. Took me 7-8 years of daily struggle to do basic things like getting dressed, cooking etc. Now I can walk 10km per day, I went from Crawling everywhere to being able to walk my butt around the country side. You have to learn to use what you Do have and figure it out. Once you get the mindset of "This wont stop me" then youre golden. Mind over Matter. knowing your limits and Adapting is Key. He will be alright if he stays Can and smartens up as they say here. Good Luck mate. Cheers.

The sisters should find forgiveness in their hearts. I hope they do.

Growing up in an orphanage definitely traumatises children one way or another. My grandmother and her sisters where brought up in an orphanage run by the nuns in rural Ireland years ago .. she did NOT have pleasant memories! The nuns where violent,cold bullys . And even decade's later you could still see the toll it took on her. I can also understand the sisters frustrations, they have alot to deal with themselves and tried to help the brother and he was acting out I feel sorry for vitya but I understand where his sister's are coming from too. I have an aunty like vitya gets really drunk and then she tries to clean the house and falls down or breaks things ,gets locked out of you house. But I also feel sorry my my aunty as she is a traumatized person but there's only so much you can talk to her about her drinking she gets defensive and shouts so we don't bother anymore , we leave her to it . We will always be there if she needs us ,gets sick etc but she won't stop drinking despite the doctors telling her too. Plus you would never think by looking at her , she's super glamorous,hair and nails always done ,nice car, nice clothes , very well dressed ,very well spoken she had a really great job, travelled and lived all over the world and now's she's retired,just drunk and angry all the time . So I can understand from both sides and it's a hard situation to want to help your family but you also are angry watching them drink their life away.
