Loved this movie. Agree about the video game feel not only the third person camera, but the dialogue from passerby’s building the scene and the environmental story telling. Love the ending as well because the film makes the viewer feel safe being locked in behind the killer. However, when the last 15 minutes happens I got this sense of dread looking at corners of the frame to see if they were hiding in frame. It provided a sense of hey we had a good time together, but don’t start feeling comfortable.

That yoga kill didn’t bother me because it felt in line with the personality of the killer (being that he is ‘simple’ minded). It’s like he’s playing with the kills/bodies in the same way he plays with the car keychain. He’s a man-child killer that also acts like the animal that the ending sort of suggests. Love the video and glad you enjoyed the movie

Just saw this tonight! I understand how people will not like this film! I on the otherhand dug this movie! Most of the kills were great! The look of the character was sick, with and without the Mask! I appreciate the unique approach they took!

Just watched this at the theater yesterday and enjoyed it. I have to disagree with you on the gore aspect. The yoga girl kill was awesome. If you are going to make a slasher flick without any real protagonists then you are going to need interesting kills to keep the viewer engaged.

Thanks for the thoughts - I’ll be excited to grab this on physical when it comes out and watch in my home theater. I hope they give it a 4k release but I’d by lying if I think it gets anything other than a Blu-ray

Love the idea of going in a different direction. The horror community needs to support these type of endeavors regardless if it's a perfect movie or not. I didn't love it, but appreciated it for what it was. I also enjoyed the filming of the campfire scene, as the manner it was filmed didn't let you relax as you weren't sure what/when/where something was going to pop into frame. However, main criticism was that the dialogue was terrible. Definitely check it out though.

You think that scenery is beautiful, then you'd be in love with Idaho where I moved to from Clearwater Beach, FL. Look up Sun valley, Ketchum and the Sawtooth mountains (in Stanley, ID) ... this is my backyard and rivers run for over 3000 Mike's, endless mountain ranges, lakes and Hot springs. It's a hidden gem in which that's what the state is called: The Gem state due to over 70 gems and the rarest Star garnett. You have to visit this state one day Christian.....

Most people have been saying its so boring. Which I could tell it would be with the lack of dialogue ...I'll still have to see it for myself to make my own judgement

It is so interesting to hear people's differences in opinion. You say it is serious, which I agree, but I have seen others say this is a comedic take/satirical take on the slasher genre. I did not laugh at all. I loved it in its seriousness. It was dark to me not funny. Just quite fascinating.

I saw a review for this movie on Flesh Wound Horror and they liked it but the ending was a problem for them I don't mind the extreme gore kills like Hatchet in the film it is called In A Violent Nature it was interesting to go with a video game style for this movie some people may not like it but if it gives you Friday The 13th vibes it can't be all that bad the look of the killer is pretty cool I will be looking forward to seeing this one when it comes out

I loved this movie thought the places they filmed were beautiful as well looks like they filmed in Canada from what IMDb says. Glad you enjoyed it. I def wouldn’t say the movie was perfect but I really enjoyed them trying to swing for the fences and do something different. Until I watch it again at this moment my biggest dislike is the ending

Is it just me or does that image of the killer with the chain in his hands look a lot like the horrible art from the Friday the 13th (1980) blu ray steelbook from Warner Bros. From around 2019.

I was not a fan of this. Slasher movies don’t need to resemble a video game. Also, without a score, this movie was boring as hell. All you heard was 90 minutes of footsteps. Imagine John Carpenter’s Halloween have been boring without the music? This movie sure was.

As long as it has thrills, suspense, and tension then I am all in. One of my biggest issues with modern cinema and modern horror is the total lack of likeable characters I actually care about. So right from the get go, I could end up hating this movie just like I hated X, Scream 5, Terrifier 1 and 2, etc. But there are films where the suspense and thrills are so good that I enjoy it. Films where I am totally digging the vibe of the movie. So I could end up liking this movie, but also end up hating this movie. I'll watch it eventually. X, Scream 5, Terrifier 1 and 2; I didn't give a a speck of a particular dust about any of the characters. Didn't give a f**k what so ever about the plot or story. And the films, to me lacked any suspense, tension, and the thrills were nonexistent to incredibly minor and to me a slasher movie, and most horror movies really HAS TO have good characters, or at least great suspense/thrills, and or tension. Like Terrifier 1 and 2.....I wasn't shocked, or grossed out by the kills....I was bored as hell by the kills. My reaction to extreme violence/gore scenes in a slasher movie should not be "Yawn.....seen it before. Seen it done far better. This sh*t is boring.....that all you got?" So I didn't like the characters. The characters I found boring. I didn't like the look of the part 2. I thought it looked terrible, ugly, painful to even look at. Total lack of any suspense, thrills, or tension. I find Art the clown to be mediocre, dull, and boring....so what is there to like? Hell, even the soundtrack....what a bad attempt at 80's synth. Sounded super dull generic 80's synth....and I am just going "Really?! Can't even get the synth soundtrack right?!" I also tend to like some slow burn movies. Again, it's all about vibes. Overall, I've heard very mixed things...but your review is actually making me think "maybe I need to watch it more sooner rather then later." So you did a good job convincing me more to see it.
