1. No sense of vibrato. 2. No portamento. 3. The legatos sound artificial and bell-shaped (no immediate attack). The bass sounds like a tuba. 4. I don't hear any solo instruments, just sections. This program is good at short, attaca notes, ethereal sheets of sound, and pizzicato. It would have been good to hear each instrument (each section) throughout its range. Violins, for example, have a special sound sul G. Cellos in the upper register sound different from violins playing the same notes. These are deliberate choices made by composers. This would be a good program for background music but I'm not sure I would use it for freestanding compositions.

Do you even own this Library, have you even played it or looked into it? In the specials section there is portamento available. And there is a vibrato control... and of course there isn't any solo instruments, it was not marketed that way.?.

I'm sorry to say but SSS sounds weird, boxy && synthy. Bumpy dynamic changes. I don't know if it's the composition or the library. Probably a combination.

Well... compared to AlbionONE (recorded in the hall at Air) the Studio Strings (obviously recorded in a studio environment) are much dryer with a much shorter reverb. Is it „the best“? It’s Spitfires only dry string library to date.... so if you want a dry string library from Spitfire... yes, it’s their best string library. If you want a reverberant string library with a huge reverb tail, than this is your worst option^^ Btw: I love layering Studio Strings Pro with AlbionONE... so it’s the perfect match for me 😉

I cannot agree with you more Benn. I was about to purchase these based on the individual string video demo where I could not here the issue because the excerpts were short and never with another instrument. But here (at 2:44?) it is out of tune. I can't believe that this gets out the door. BTW - I do not have perfect or relative pitch but I seem obvious. The is no reference to this on any review.
