It's also true. If you glue wood properly, and then impact it hard enough, the wood will fail before the glue joint does.

To be fair to him, I fall down rabbit holes but I have neither the artistic talent nor the NASA level coding and math skills to prove any of the things I think upon and monetise the result. So he's doing more than a wiki-walk (TVTropes will ruin your life®)

A fun glue trick combination i like to use for all sorts of projects is twine and wood glue. Wrap the twine around the joint you need to be strong, and add the wood glue and it becomes like wrapping that joint in wood. Makes a kick-ass popsicle tower.

Coincidentally, cyanoacrylate glue happens to be my go-to as well, especially for plastics, but I also keep a stock of wood glue and 5-minute epoxy on hand.

IRBenHunter He quoted the punchline in many writings/interviews, usually as "the punchline to my favorite joke..." but occasionally just as "as a dear friend once told me..." or the like. He never actually said the joke itself.
