I gathered brief biography of your guest mr Adam nevil and main theme of one of his most notable works briefly here it’s he is English writer of supernatural horror known for his book ritual. Prior to be became full time author, he worked as editor. He won several awards such as august derleth award for best novel ritual 2012and following year same award for novel last days 2013 . Ritual plot summary about four old university friends set out in Scandinavia wilderness, to escape problems of their lives and reconnect, but as so often common ground lost so tension begin to rise . Critical reception has been mostly positive. South African paper independent on line praised work as tension and creepy. Netflix adapted of novel ritual was released in 2017 . Great, insightful interview. Thank you. My first Nevill was Last Days and I absolutely loved it. Recently finished the Redening and that was also really good (fantastic atmosphere). I wish Adam good luck as an indie publisher. I don't think he needs it though, his visceral writing is on another level.

That was fun. While my TBR is longer than my lifespan, I'll make the effort to pickup The Ritual (I returned it because The Trials of Empire is out so everything else stops) and I look forward to part 3.

I tried to look up The Trials of Empire, but there are several books with that name. I'm guessing you mean the Richard Swann (since it's just come out). Crazy high star rating on Goodreads! I'm hoping you enjoy it as much as others seem to have.

@@Michael_Wertenberg That's the one .I love the main character (Sir Konrad VonValt) . The author mentions Geralt of Rivia and Gregor Eisenhorn (Dan Abnett's Warhammer 40k writings) as one of the inspirations for VonValt. 2 out of 3 favorite characters in fiction (Arkady Renko is the 3rd).
