@@frankboyd. I fell in love with their music the very first time I heard them. Can't remember what song it was, probably one of their blues covers like Come On In My Kitchen, Preachin' Blues, or Hard Time Killing Floor Blues. They are clearly talented, but their love for the music they play is just so evident that you just can't help loving it too! 👍👍👍

Well, you girls just jumped into musical history - in another century! The vibe is the same because the greatest compliment you pay a song writer is to sing their song. You two, as Justin alluded to, can sing songs - any time, any place. Because you own it - not for the sake of lawyers and copyright, but for the same reason the song was written - to be sung and heard. Thanks for sharing this interview.

At 1:39 Justin Hayward is asked "Where on the World are you?". He replies that he is in his apartment in a little village on the Mediterranean Sea just inside the French border with Italy. I think that "little village" is Monte Carlo in the Principality of Monaco!!! Some years ago, one of my neighbours told me that his eldest daughter was working in TV production. She was working on a "Story Of The Moody Blues" video, and had to go to Monte Carlo to interview Justin. Apparently, he is an absolute gentleman and was very accommodating to the production crew making the film ( as were all of the band members past and present). The Moodies video is well worth a look. And Mesdames Larkin Poe, your take on "Nights In White Satin" just exceeds excellence. Thank you so much. Please keep on with your outstanding music!

When the Moody Blues' album "Days of Future Passed" debuted, I was 15. And while I was a big fan of many of the late-'60s rock bands, I was mesmerized (surprisingly, at that age) by the introspective music created by Justin Hayward and John Lodge. And now, Hayward's funny explanation for writing "Nights in White Satin": "I was really stoned, at the time." 'Interesting, thoughtful interview, ladies.

It would have cost no more than £350 to book them at the time. I used to be on the committee at college at the time, and we booked dozens of (now) superstar bands, and none of them cost more than £500. Might have been £600 to book The Kinks, but everyone else was less.

Moments truly do get lost. So many times I would've liked to have things recorded.... imagery, audio, even news articles but those times when you're "in the moment". You can't just stop the world while you set up equipment as an after thought. They turn into stories of history with only the words passed down. Gotta always try to be ready I guess.

What a grand interview. Justin looks like he was reliving every moment in talking about Nights. To me...Nights is a lovely song but it is also sad. Justin stated one time that in a way it is about a death...a death in a relationship which can cause you just as much pain a losing some dear. Justin's voice is so haunting in it. It sounds as if is going to cry singing that song because a girl had just broken up with him. Singing "Oh how I love you," speaks for itself. You can just imagine him walking and seeing couples in love and holding hands and there he is suffering inside and these people around him do not know the agony he is going through and they will never understand because his love is unimaginable. I was watching Casino the other day and you could hear Nights being played in the background. I have heard this song in our movies like Dark Shadows with Johnny Depp. I will always love that song and have so since 1969 when I was only 18. Once again...what a great interview.

How stupid. That's what tapes for- we record over it? They ruined their whole recording. Instead of recording something over it, couldn't they have just made another tape? That Overseas Radio, Justin mentioned, made a copy. So the BBC must have given them a copy, but not the band? And the guys were young. So they didn't request a copy at the time? Or because they couldn't get into the control room, they couldn't even ask anyone for a copy? At least they finally got a copy. They must have had to record it again. Or else there wouldn't have been DOFP.
