The quick strap change system is something, I think, Hublot was one of the first to implement. It took the other brands quite some time to adapt. The brand gets so much hate, but you cannot deny they are creative.

i dont understand people who critics hublot. i have been buying hublots since 1990. the classic is the watch i like the most of this brand. and they are really innovative. the rubber straps are using now for every brand and noboday says they are copying hublot

It is mainly the cheap movement in expensive watches that make it feel like a scam. And the designs are not appealing for most people.

That’s simply not true! Only some of the watches use a non-Hublot calibre… all the others do have an in-house calibre…

@@WatchAdvisor I agree with you. Besides some people still don’t know some called in house movements are worse than ETA movements for example. When you buy a watch you don’t buy just a movement . By the way. Carlo Crocco changed a lot in the watch industry mixing gold with rubber. And I have to say again the hublot classic fusion is so beautiful , the most comfortable watch to wear , at a reasonable price in titanium and very elegant

I came from Nico Leonard’s channel, and I have this to say about Hublot. The more opinions you get from people about your watch, the less you should care about these opinions. I handled 2 Hublot watches, and I can’t say that the quality is bad. It’s fairly decent, the case designs are fairly innovative. My biggest problem that I have with the design is the screws. If we compare it to the Royal Oak, we can see that the Royal Oak has perfectly aligned screws on the bezel for symmetry. Not a single Hublot has it. I used to work in construction, and we also were required to have aligned screws with whatever we do so that it looks presentable to our client. It’s those small things that make the watch so special, and it feels like for the price of a Hublot, I just don’t see that worthy quality. I feel like the brand would have a lot more customers if they increased their attention to detail, and also used a higher level movement in their watches, something that’s actually deserving to sell for their prices. I just want to wish this channel a great success in this year, and maybe we can actually have some nice discussions in the future.

Thank you to be open minded! Not all watch brands have to maintain a good reputation among watch collectors. Hublot is simply not targeting them. There are lots of new generations and new wealth are willing to pay for their marketing expenses on products with ridiculous high margins. And when those customers regret buying them after maturing their taste, there are still a lot more new wealth coming into the market. They might have done the impossibles in terms of creating a distinctive marketing strategy which is probably more efficient than Rolex and Patek. RM would probably not be what they are today if they aren't influenced by Hublot's philosophy.

There are no perils ... If a quick release system is done correctly there are none...

Hublot, love it or hate it, but if it sells (and it does) it is fine. Would I buy one? No. But they are doing a lot of interesting things and you will always recognise a Hublot as Hublot. Not a lot if brands are able to do this, maybe Cartier and Rolex.

From a horological standpoint, they’ve done some cool stuff but it clearly isnt value for money. Sometimes, I wish you stayed unbiased although I understand you have a relationship with the brands you work with.

I fully disagree! Hublot is the master of discovering niches and filling these with products that have more or less no competition... In such niche you always find the customer ... Hublot watches sell well... the brand's turnover is impressive...

@@WatchAdvisor We will have to agree to disagree. Sales isn’t all that relevant given how much they spend on marketing. Just because MVMT and Daniel Wellington sell well, it doesn’t mean they offer great products. Many people who buy Hublot aren’t all that interested in horology. They buy Hublot because they are recognisable and represent wealth. Hublot watches - are they plausible? Yes some are, but some of their entry models are basically ETA movements and cost several thousand dollars. I have no intentions to criticise people who buy Hublot, just giving my opinion on the brand and why I wouldn’t buy.
