What a pleasant surprise to see this today. Dr. Struthers’ comment about desiring for people to read her book and become watch geeks made me smile, as this actually happened with me. Her book was the tipping point to dive deep into watch mechanics, design, and focused research of a couple of historic brands. Great job, Tony!

This was a brilliant podcast! Thank you for bringing these two wonderful talents together! Rebecca's "Hands of Time" is an excellent, well written read that makes the history of watchmaking approachable and enjoyable. Reading the book is like being on the listening end of a enjoyable chat over a cuppa with her. You learn a bit about history, about humanity, about some magical moments over time as well as some dire moments, and also a bit about her and Craig. "Hands of Time" is HIGHLY recommended for anyone who would like to take an comfy read over a weekend.

Thanks for presenting this update from Rebecca Struthers. I read her book shortly after it was released, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The collaboration with Lewis Heath is also interesting news. As a fan of enamel dial watches, I’ll want to check out the AnOrdain catalog. Swiss companies like Ulysse Nardin acquired dial-making businesses in the past, that allowed them to offer the beautiful enamel dials that were available on their San Marcos line of watches.

The approachability and friendliness of AnOrdain towards their customers is an object lesson in how to build a brand. There's a wait list, but they will make you a watch if you're patient, and it will be superb.

Taking deposits for a 3 year waitlist is mental. Only a financially irresponsible person would put down a deposit for something he won't receive for 3 years.

@@TheWatchOut Well, it's a choice, isn't it? Doesn't make sense for you and I get that. For me, AnOrdain are tiny with talented home grown artists at work. Many are happy to support that with a deposit. In Scotland we are pretty proud of their success.

wonderful listening! dr Struthers book is really easy to read even for people who have a very superficial contact with watches - tested. wish AnOrdain would bring back into production the 36mm No 2 with green enamel dial and two hands.
