Ok, so that scene in Lost Stars, now that I think about it, kinda was like a Bumblestripe thing, but with Rootpaw instead of trying to make her feel bad, he shows gratitude. That is what is nice.

Bumblestripe is basically the good version of Ashfur, and Rootspring is Bumblestrip but nicer and he ends up with the girl he likes. So technically, Rootspring is like a very toned down Ashfur, in a way.

IK this is like 4 months late, but I don’t think it was going that fast. I do agree Bristlefrost should have shown more indication that she like him before saying that, but if you really think about it they pushed it to take three whole books. Most relationships in warriors happen in 1-2 books or even like in the span of a few chapters. Graystripe and Silverstream for example. I luv Graystripe, but they made the relationship happen way too fast. I like how Bristlefrost and Rootspring actually took longer than most to actually start a real relationship.

I like Bristle x Root a lot! It is a very healthy realationship and it is sweet. And I hope that, because the arc is called "The Broken Code", that they change the code in the last book. And because Root and Bristle are the protagonists, the Clans see that love is a strength, no matter what clan the lovers are in. (I would like if they change more) Maybe "Broken" is not just reffering to the crimes, that the cats have made in the past, but also, that the code itself is flawed/ broken. What is your opinion on that? Would you like it, if they change the warrior code? (Sorry for my bad english, I am from Germany, but read the books in english.)

Honestly I got irritated at the confession, it seemed like it came out of nowhere. But after a while I realized Ive been in the same place as Bristlefrost and after thinking it over with her actions and my experience I understood it and accept it. Compared to other forbidden loves in WARRIORS, this one feels SO well developed in THE BROKEN CODE compared to others in the past, and I feel for this couple SO MUCH MORE than I did even with the Vision of Shadows couples, which goes to show how far Erin Hunter has come as a writer. I think this series has more reason than any other to use that trope, since it's all about code-breaking and they're probably going to use Bristleroot as an argument in favour of amending the Code. It's also a nice paralell to Ashfur and Squirrelflight. Ashfur was incapable of taking his beloved's wishes into account and only cares about his own feelings, while Rootspring and Bristlefrost have a deep mutual respect for each other, and are willing to compromise without putting one's feelings above the other's. With such a toxic "love" from Ashfur being highlighted in this series, it's important to have a healthy, loving foil to compare it to.

I initially didn’t ship this because it seemed very one-sided, and after darkness within I still don’t. It’s not one sided anymore, but I feel like almost every full on conversation they had in this book was the disagreeing on what they want out of life. I don’t ship it because they seem like they’re in a puppy love state but wouldn’t last as well as a long-term relationship because of their different ideals and world views. I havent read The Broken Code yet & dont know these characters (nor Spotfur & Stemleaf) But after watching this video, I can say. They sure seem cute together. I can only take what I know from this video and the comments. But I think their relation is wholesome, healthy and believable from what I just heard. Unlike other cats who just instantly fall in love and/or we never saw much interaction between, before & after they became a pair (hey I still ship some. It's like 99% of all ships) their relationship definitly had alot of time to build up. ....or I am saying sth completely wrong & they only met a few times ? Idk. It's still more development than 99% of all relations. They seem like good friends, who sure went through some awkward, embaressing moments, work together to stop Bramble imposter, got alot of respect for each other....if they got enough time....maybe they can be even more than just really good friends. I'd sure buy this ship. Who knows ? Maybe I'll ship it (and I ship only 2 or 3 ships so far) Maybe I'll like it. Maybe I'll hate it. Maybe I'll think it's just ok. The fandom always talks about hating ships, its sadly just a fandom thing. Fandoms are, in my honest experience and opinion, never the best, and most are just outright toxic... Luckily the warriors fandom isn't nearly as bad as other fandoms I've seen, but my few nit picks are that people in the fandom get too obsessive over the characters, and kinda gatekeep people just trying to enjoy their favorite book. If someone disagrees or has a differing opinion than someone, the opposing person just gets unnecessarily angry and borderline toxic. And the other nit pick is that no one is satisfied with a single thing the writers do in the books more specifically, anything thats written they just make videos about complaining about it instead of appreciating it. Thats why I love Akira's channel, she is always talking positively about the books, and when bringing up the more negative sides of the story, its reasonable and not extreme. Akira does good, and isn't just jumping to hate on literally everything the erins do.

Eh I just feel like it was sprung out of no where, its cute now I just feel like it had no base. Bristle just seemed annoyed most the time and then all of a sudden they talked and shes like "Oh wow! I suddenly am extremely in love with you! :0" I just felt like it was so weird and just out of no where. But I am happy that it isn't bad as Oakheart and Bluestar, that was a trainwreck of a pair. Bristle and Root are cute now its just that they barely talked before and Bristle always seemed so annoyed and all of a sudden she confesses feelings? Just aint doing it for me. I can understand long distance relationships but they barely talk! They have no form of communication in between the few times they speak. You have to factor in that Gatherings are every MONTH, not just a few days, not just a week, every month. Then if you add in the few border times they saw each other. So through the moons they've probably only seen each other around 10-14 times if apprenticeship is 6-8 moons? Maybe more maybe less but that isn't really enough you know? Then as warriors maybe 4-6 times more? All in the span of around a year? I'm just not the biggest fan of forbidden love romances in warriors, they seem so rushed and just there for drama. I have yet seen a really good forbidden romance, perhaps Dove and Tiger since they snuck away a lot more and such. I really hope we get a super good forbidden romance next arc, I would love to see them actually communicating more and going through real couple struggles.

I agree that it’s healthy, there is nothing toxic or bad about it. They’re both very nice to each other. My issue with is that I don’t like it didn’t show Bristlefrost’s feelings now. We didn’t her feelings until Darkness Within, where she’s suddenly madly in love. It would’ve been nice to see her change of feelings, and why they changed. I also think the relationship lacks a bit of wholesome scenes. A lot of their scenes ends up being “I wish we could be together” rather than just moments where they have a real conversation together. Compare this to Shadowsight and Rootspring when they first talk to each other, they find something to relate over. Rootspring and Bristlefrost doesn’t really have that...? I can’t really tell what their relationship dynamic would be like because we don’t see much of their relationship truly playing out. I might warm up to them later, but it’s just hard for me to like this ship right now because as healthy as it is, it’s just a tad generic!

I really like this ship because of how calm and openly they communicated. They didn't fight or have misunderstandings, and they both understood they couldn't be together. It was the most mature Warriors ship I can think of. Plus, who couldn't love the racing scene?

I am liking the potential with this ship and it’s the closest we’ve come to healthy inter-clan relationships like Dawn of the Clans in a while. Tigerheart and Dovewing was a good first step and they handled it well + took care of eachother, but ultimately Dovewing decided to leave Thunderclan. It was valid of her, but that’s why I’m intrigued by this ship, in which they share a deep respect for the other’s clan loyalties, but it doesn’t mean they must break off. I will say the only reason it’s not my favorite ship rn is because Darkness Within really made me form a little Spotfur x Bristlefrost headcanon, but I know that it will never be canon and likely wasn’t intended that way, and it’s also likely I’m projecting as a wlw lol. But the way that Bristlefrost first starts taking care of Spotfur on the journey because she also loved Stemleaf and empathizes with the loss of him was mature of her! There are multiple points during the journey in between BristlexRoot where Bristlefrost is constantly thinking about Spotfur’s wellbeing and making little domestic actions to try and make her feel better. I think what really solidified it for me was the kits..when they find out Spotfur is horrified, and Bristlefrost quickly sets aside any jealousy she ever held and tells Spotfur that his memory will live with her kits. When Spotfur is having a really dark moment, Bristlefrost is SO fast to shoot over and help her. Lastly, when Spotfur is afraid of raising the kits without Stemleaf’s help, Bristlefrost straight up says that SHE will raise them with Spotfur 🥺 It’s still a great platonic relationship as I’m sure most people see it, but it’s really the best setup for a good wlw ship that I’ve gotten attached to since MothPool..

It's an interesting relationship. I haven't read many of the recent warrior books, but I do find that the forbidden relationship between cats from different clans is overused. It is also an incredibly cliche thought relationship. In pretty much any romance book the relationship is forbidden or shouldn't exist. I have stopped reading the books and especially the new arc because it started to seem way to cliche and that annoys me. The new books/arc seem original, but in my opinion they are starting to seem like those cliche adventure books with the whole villain situation. I will continue watching the videos, but I am stopping reading the books due to this reason.

I really like how the ship was showing more feelings from Bristlefrost's side in the newest book, but at the same time she just randomly confessed out of no-where in the book before Darkness Within. I was confused because she never thought about him or was like "wow actually he's kinda hot" whenever she thought of him she just immediately stopped. I like how they're making up with the romance in the newer book though! Cause now I can actually see what Bristlefrost is thinking.
