I always thought Thunderbirds LOOKED cool, but had a limited tone spectrum. When I saw a vid of a Dingwall D-Roc, and saw that because of the strap attachment positions there was perfect balance, that and the awesome spectrum of tones sold me. Took me a while to get the 5 string version, pandemic supply chain stuff. It's an awesome instrument.

The 2015 is the one to get ... coil taps.... better frets, wiring, phase switching and came equipped from the Gibson factory with a Babicz bridge...

Very good take on the Thunderbird. I keep telling folks its a real sleeper in the way it fits a live mix. I got a 2018 Gibson as a "blemished" model from Sweetwater. Under 8.5 lbs. I put hipshot mini cloverleaf tuners, and it came with a Babicz bridge, which I love. I put Lollar pickups in it for even more open tone (which I think the later Epi TBird Pro pups are great for). One thing I dont ever see discussed is the 1.5" nut and that C shaped neck. So comfy. Also I have a very recent NonReverse, whose nut size is considerably wider. (Like Jazz vs Pbass). Anyway, thanks for carrying the TBird flag!❤

Me personally, I've found the Epiphone thunderbird to be a badass sounding bass, but of course I never stood with the thing, wither way I have no problem with em.
