Jason just seems like a genuinely great person, I still cannot understand why rest of Metallica did him so dirty. For me Jason is even more important than Cliff , those late 80´s - mid 90s Metallica gigs are something special, Jason was a BEAST! Especially live.
@ChristopherFoxglove4 ай бұрын
No doubt. I can’t and won’t get into the nuances of interpersonal relationships. I understand the narrative that the rest of the band “did him dirty”, but I don’t personally subscribe to it. I don’t think we can/will ever know the fine details of how it all went down. Suffice to say, it didn’t work out. But you’re absolutely right about Jason’s importance being right up there with Cliff’s. The fact is that Jason was part of Metallica during the 10-year span where they were at their absolute peak-and he was a big part of it. ‘89 - 2000 or so. They were the biggest, baddest, most epic band on the planet. I hope we get to see Jason play something with those guys again, just for old times sake.

It was because of Jason being such a nice guy that allowed them to walk all over him. Fuck Lars. Fuck James. I don't know about Kirk? He looks like he could be quite the diva. But I think ultimately he was Jason's friend. Imagine how they treat Rob... I saw Jason fill in as front man after James hurt himself riding a jet ski back in 99 or 00. Shit started to go sideways when they announced James wouldn't be there! Jason saved the show! After that many people had huge respect for him. I know I did! Jason is the man!
