I just got my Altima SL, bought it only reason being pro pilot assist. The day I got to know about it, I had a feeling it would be an awesome feature and sure enough it is. Now I am addicted to it. Its like a rewarding system when the pro pilot kicks in and takes up the driving on your behalf :) Also the complete stop and hold while in cruise is such an awesome feature. This is such a fun car at an affordable price. Should be the number 1 in its kind.

The ProPilot assist is not on lower trim levels of the Rogue, and it is not an Auto Pilot. It is a steering assist to help you keep the vehicle centered in a lane while using cruise control. That is why you are not supposed to take your hands off the wheel at any time, which is why all the alarms go off and it stops the vehicle if you keep trying to drive hands free.

G L it stops you in the travel lane. Pulling over autonomously at this point in the technology stage would be even more dangerous.

So what happen if my ex wife was speed chasing me and I felt asleep after a little bit of alcohol in my system? Can she run into my car or will the car be able to tell her to not slam her vehicle into mine while on the lane?

Really? You thought about that but the R&D department, engineers, focus groups and lawyers @ Nissan might have overlooked that ''detail''? The answer to your question is yes, and I did not feel the need to research it.

my 2019 Altima SL ProPilot over corrects and starts going (zigzag) from one side of the lane to the other. I think maybe at times it is over reacting to the lane markers . It does OK 90% of the time. Can this be adjusted?

We suggest bringing it in to your dealership to inspect. The ProPilot will constantly make sure to adjust itself to proper lane alignment, but anything that feels abnormal please have it checked!

@@medicinehatnissan5475 I took it to the service department where I bought the 2019 Altima SL. The service dept mgr said there is nothing he can do with the ProPilot program. He checked my wheel alignment, then aligned the wheels. They were out a little but not enough to cause a steering problem. I have a case number with customer service. Maybe something can be done. The program just needs some fine tuning and ProPilot will work much better. It needs to track closer to the road edge and stop the car at least 2-3 car lengths behind a stopped vehicle. As it is it makes me very nervous and I can't use intelligent lane intervention because I have to constantly fight with it to keep the car away from the center line. I learned that ProPilot does not operate in a separate module from the main computer/ECU/ECM. If it is sharing a processor with other systems that would explain why it is slow to react some times. I'm just guessing. I know very little. Sometimes it is extremely slow to lock on the lane lines although the lines are in good condition, and sometimes it is slow to lock on a vehicle ahead.

@@yoyohooyo The ProPilot steering assist is dependent on clearly defined lane markers. That is why it does not work if you are in the right lane with the curb to your right without a solid painted line to be detected. If the lane markers are in poor condition, the system won't work, which likely explains the behavior you experienced. It cannot be adjusted. It also won't work on wet roads that obscure the lane markers. I had a 2019 Altima Platinum and I traded it for the 2019 Rogue SL. My Altima drove terrible. The CVT tried to shift through the simulated gears all before hitting 30 MPH. If I let off the gas to try and coast on the highway, it immediately started to lose speed. I had to keep my foot on the accelerator to maintain speed, which affected the gas mileage greatly. I had a 2015 Altima that drove like a dream and the CVT acted more like a real transmission. I got over 40 MPG on the highway with the older model because I could ease off the gas and the car would practically coast and maintain speed. The 2019 Rogue drives exactly like my old Altima did. I guess Nissan did some new programming work on the 2019 Altima and jacked it all up. Hope you don't have the same experience with yours.

Yes sometimes it changes lanes by itself although I don't want it to. The road lanes appear to be marked good but sometimes it goes out of my lane anyway and most often to the left, so one must be alert and have a hand on the wheel at all times. Once it steered hard right. I don't know why. The lane was marked good. 95% of the time or more maybe it tracks in my lane but weaves left and right often.

Thank you for not filming outside the car at the end of the video when it stops so we can know if the car stops in middle of the road or turn to the side before stopping. It is very important not to give the essential information to viewers, because information is very dangerous. One should be sure that viewers are stupid and not understand everything. Next time you make a video you should try to hide somehow weather conditions and maybe stop filming out of the window at all to be sure viewers remain stupid.
