You're looking at a beringer p 16. Personal mixer, one of the onstage style mixers that I was mentioning in the prior video. And this particular one does not work with the wing. The wing does not have ultranet on it, which is kind of an odd oversight for Behringer, since they developed it. But let's not talk about that right now. What I've done is I've got an Aas 50 feed dropping over to an X 32 rack feeding these so I could continue using these when I change to the wing. But let's talk about the basics of boxes like this. Now, this box at the outset, can be a little daunting for people who aren't used to running a mixer, which is a lot of musicians. So let's just talk about some of the basics you've got set up over here. Things like linking grouping, recall and store, which are about what they think they are linking is locking things together. grouping is grouping things together, recalling is recalling, storing is storing while it was difficult. We also noticed there's a main button here. And on this particular unit, you've got a master volume on the main mix buss tone controls on the main mix buss limiter and master output level. So you've got a lot you can do just on the main side of things. So once you establish a mix with all your channels, which are individual instruments, you can then do an overall EQ overall adjustments. One things you need to really be aware of on this thing is it also has this weird feature, this is a switch and a knob. Now they did this for kind of a smart reason, let's just say and we're going to go put on something so we can pretend it matters, we're going to put on some bass,
which in theory I should be hearing now. Well, actually, let's not do that. Let's recall a blank slate. So now I'm turning on some bass. And I got my bass channel going, for some bizarre reason, in a hurry, I want to get rid of this guy. If I just press the button, it basically takes him out of the mix. Now people sometimes will accidentally hit that while they're running the box. So that can be a little bit disturbing, especially if it's on the main. And that's a common thing, I'll get a call phone call, I got nothing out of the box and I go go to your main. And let me know if your button here is letting the go Oh, it's not. Okay, do that. That'll take care of it. So one of the features of this console, you'll notice this lit up red ring on tone controls. Similarly, you'll notice there's rings around them. Now if you pick a particular
channel,
and we'll take bass just because it happens to be playing. And I want to adjust the bass, I start turning this knob until that light lights up. Nothing's happening. These are virtual controls. So they don't actually take effect until the ring is lit. So for example, when I go back to the beginning of this cut, just so that we have more to work with. If I want to adjust the mids, I now have control over the mids. Now I have control over the frequency. So until the light lights up, I'm not actually doing anything. But once I am, I've got a fair amount of alternative EQs and things that can use on this. You've also got pan control, which is pretty obvious. And then you've got 16 individual inputs, which we'll talk about that in a minute, how those are assigned from the console and how you look at putting together what you want to feed to people. So let's just talk about the basics. So first thing is you're wearing both earbuds because if you're not wearing both ear buds go home Don't even bother with this starting with kick drum, which is the usual place that people tend to start with.
Not sure why. There we go. Now I happen to know what these are. Labeling is really helpful. Put a little hi hat in it. And I'm going to put the Hi Hat a little bit off to the side and an overhead

Do keyboards have to send stereo to the mixer for live play or mono is fine ? I play in church and I’ve been wondering if my keyboard needs to send L and R or just L mono to the mixer
