As someone in their early 60's, I remember seeing these guys support Motorhead in Leicester, UK. Totally different but so heavy. They stuck in my mind in a way no other support band has ever done. You just can not avoid head banging to this from the very start. Incredible, original band - the melodic pounding rhythms are to die for.

When i was 17 i went to my first In Flames concert. I told my parents it was in the same town we where living and that i was going to sleep at a friends house. Took the train 360 km away. Went on the concert after the concert i snuck into a strip club and got thrown out. Had to sleep outside in a parkinglot until my train arrived in the morning. Was so worth it. Now im 37 and In Flames still rocks =)

Making an assessment of the best melodic metal albums I have to say that the album clayman is for me a flawless musical work and the best album of in flames without any doubt. They have made very good albums but without a doubt I will keep this one. If I had to recommend an album to a person who asked me without a doubt I would recommend this album because from the first to the last song all of them are incredible. Although it sounds shocking, for me it is the best work that has been done in the melodic metal in history. I will never get tired of listening to it. Always clayman in my veins.
