Carlitos has immense talent, but he also has a genuinely kind heart. Did you notice how restrained his celebrations were during the match? While he wanted to perform at his best, he was mindful not to rub it in his good friend Sinner’s face, who is facing a tough time.

@@patrikmarflak6559 I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. I'm talking about the other poster going on about the alcaraz " not trying to hurt sinners feelings" by not celebrating rubbish. People project this fantasy relationship between them that doesn't actually exist anything like that.

What an AMAZING week for tennis. Nishikori is BACK. Alcaraz Sinner Final: - Sinner wins first set which Alcaraz dominated - Alcaraz switches the momentum in the second after winning a VERY long and entertaining game, and not letting sinner break. takes the second. - Third set they're both leveled. Sinner looses in tiebreak after leading 0-3. He only made 1 UE in the next 7 points that Alcaraz won Fills run: - Beating Fritz, and then beating Shelton in a very tight match - Beating Rune in two unbelievable tie breaks - Saving 3 consecutive break points in the second, saving a championship point on a specific Humbert serve to which he's been loosing all match. Halep is back :) The fans are the real winners this week!

Hi Nick, just some input from a Chinese local: the Beijing tournament was held around a National holiday, which alters the working schedule so we worked last Sunday and then we have a whole week off starting Monday. That may be why the finals were put on a Wednesday, so that the final rounds get more viewership. Hope that helps make some more sense! Loved your content as always! 👍👍

I had to go to KZbin to finally get an answer as to why you guys make this weird schedule lol. Tried to google it and see if your weekends are different than ours or whatever, but nothing. One thing though, the smaller tournaments the week before also used this schedule, and the stands were virtually empty. The matches felt like when we had empty stadiums because of Covid.

Carlos has the ability to sharpen his focus at the crucial moments. In the third set tiebreaker, Jannik looked to run away with the break and the match, but that switch went on in Carlos's mind. He is Monfils but with much more talent and this finals was truly a magical performance from both players. For King Carlos to display such a sublime act of contortionist impossible gets he needs an equally talented magician to push him and Sinner delivered. Down a break in set 1&3 Sinner fought back never wavering and was up 3-0 in the final tie break ready to snatch the trophy until King Carlos pulled a hat trick of the 7 straight points. Gill Gross said it perfectly. what would keep Novak awake and sleepless at night is - if he didn't play high percentage, precise tennis. Unforced errors - not acceptable. Carlos? if he didn't go after his shots, no matter what. Carlos is like - I might loose the match, but I'm not going to loose the player I am.
@andieolivia

Novak plays only percentage tennis. He’s a robot. His tennis is governed by mathematics. Carlos plays tennis on a feeling! That’s why it’s brilliant because it’s organic and free flowing. When he’s in that zone he’s so fun to watch!

@@andieoliviaA bit of a short term memory lapse here given how Djokovic went for it in the two tiebreaks in Paris firing winners past Alcaraz who could only watch them flying past him so that's not exactly true. Both Djokovic and Alcaraz are winners who are both able to perform in the biggest moments of the match - that's what they have in common despite being different players. A bit odd here though that no mention of Alcaraz going off at 0-3 down for a good time to lace up and change insoles and put on new shoes which was a real momentum breaker for Sinner too in the thread set tie break. Certainly would get a mention in most cases.

I don't think both played their best, far from it. Unforced errors aren't the best picture of a match, but they're important and both together hit almost 100 unforced, maybe 60, 70% unusual for them. Alcaraz's shot selection was a nightmare until the third set tiebreak and Sinner service was nonexistent the whole match, all that reflected in lack of chemistry they usually have. Anyway playing this level, both would beat maybe any player on tour right now easily, but since they're very close (still thinking Alcaraz is better) the match turned into a classic battle.

@simonebranca1972
@simonebranca1972 Ай бұрын
@@patrikmarflak6559 I get where you're coming from, and I agree that the margins at this level are super tight, and the intensity of rallies definitely plays a role in decision making and percentages. That said, we can’t ignore the fact that, in this case, Sinner’s 1st serve % and points won on the 1st serve were well below his season average. As for the 80% I wrote, it was figurative for sure (it’s hard to pin down exactly how much an athlete’s performance drops due to various factors). I can only rely on the numbers, stats, and, of course, results. In my opinion, Jannik should try to add more variety and dynamics to his game, especially against players like Carlos. He’s shown he can do it, and I’m sure he’ll try to mix things up more in the future. However, I’m also really sure the family bad issues, the WADA affair, and half of his team leaving had a big impact on his game, both physically and emotionally. Of course, none of this takes away from Alcaraz’s outstanding level of play and stellar perfomance.
