Another strategy (works for me since I don't have interest in real estate)--I invest in undervalued stocks and take frequent profits, then take the profits from market gains to buy physical precious metals, a real store of wealth/value. Long as the Fed won't allow a recession (which is quite possible for some time to come), this works; in the meantime, I have my short positions ready to go soon as things start going south, as they did in 2008. @@OZ88 You're kidding, right? There hasn't been a time in history, including the present time (Venezuela/Ukraine) where gold wasn't a lifesaver. It can be used to barter in the worst situations, and there are always ways to liquidate it, especially during a financial crisis. Although diversification is important, I wouldn't count on stocks protecting me unless the economy was decent, and I was having a personal financial emergency.

Best Gold coins are $20 Double Eagles and I like $1 gold coins, Silver ,I like Maples leaf one ounce , and IKE 40% Silver Dollars because most are sealed and were never circulated . Silver dimes are great because of smaller size in case you need to barter.

It wasn't illegal to own Gold. It was illegal for federal employees to own Gold. Executive Order 6102 only applied to federal employees. But because of the widespread lack of knowledge (ignorance) of "We the People", they all blindly gave up their Gold since they thought it applied to them.

You're still not allowed to own a 1933 Double Eagle without permission from the government. A lady found like 8 of them or something in her dad's safe deposit box (worth about 10 million a piece), and the government confiscated them. This was in the early 2000s.

In a previous video your guest advised buying gold or silver bullion bars rather than collector coins. In this video you mentioned you bought a gold Krugerrand. Before becoming aware of your channel, I had bought gold Krugerrands and silver American Eagles. Are these also considered to be collector's coins, and have I made a bad investment? I live in South Africa, and our currency will imminently be downgraded to junk status. I guess the intrinsic value of these coins is better than money in the bank.
