🇨🇳 In GuangDong, China, They Really Do Use EVERY Part of This Animal!

Hello from GuangDong, China - we are so happy to be here! More than just the incredible recipes of seafood we’re enjoying tonight, it’s also wonderful to reconnect with old friends. Thank you for joining XiaoRan, Li, and Myself, I hope you love the unique (weird?) delicious (incredibly so!) seafood we’re trying together tonight!
With such a focus on ultra-fresh and high-quality ingredients, it’s no surprise that the cuisine of GuangDong is famous the world over. A few of the things on tonight’s menu though include things I’ve never even heard of, things I didn’t even know were eaten! Even within China, there are local sayings along the lines of “Live to eat, and if you can go do that eating in GuangZhou!” (Ok, that’s my own translation but the spirit of it is correct!)
This generations old restaurant is treating us extremely well tonight, and I hope you can say the same about any rest you’ve been going out to try lately as well. Southern Chinese food cheers!! I hope this finds you ready to start another beautiful week of life.

OMG Dudes that looked amazing! I love Razor clams! They live in a burrow in the sand and the lumpy end is the burrowing foot that holds them in their burrow, they’re called Razor clams as the shell looks a little like a straight razor, i've collected them in the UK, very tasty!! ... And bizarrely enough i'm fly fishing at a fishery right now and they have grass carp in one of the lakes!!! 🤔 Hmmmmm what's the recipe again lol 😂.... great seeing you all having fun, big love to all X JP 🤗👍🏼😉

Hello Joel Li razor clams live under the sand on the beach. When the tide goes out they go under the sand if you walk on the beach see little holes near the sea they are signs of razors underneath. Take a bucket, sea water sprinkle the salt water on top of the hole the razor will come to the surface you have to be very quick to grab (hold) them they are very fast and bingo free food. When I worked in the restaurant we would steam razors with hazelnut butter serve straight from the steamer lovely 😅😅😅

Look's fun and yummy. Those razor clams are different than our West coast ones which are hard to find. Getting them in a restaurant is special. Is that the bike company? I've been off line a while, had to go on a no food, no water diet, but all betters. Now I'm catching up.

The first dish is not stir-fried watercress. Instead, it is watercress soup (西洋菜上汤). You are supposed to drink that soup which is full of flavor.

So many wonderful choices of cuisine but it makes me think of many Chinese fishing ships scouring the coasts of Africa leaving very little for the local fishermen and their ships around the Galapagos turning off transponders and lights, going in, making their catches and leaving under the cloak of darkness..hopefully things can turn around..thx for the good vid 🙏🏻🕊
