So many great people are mentioned here. Although they've all left us, their work is what keeps their spirits alive. Our condolences are with the friends and colleagues of all these people RIP to them all ❤ 😊

I think that this in memoriam was better than most. I liked that it was alphabetical. Also it seemed that non performers were adequately represented. However, learning about Sally Ann Howe broke my heart.

Did the people who picked this actually watch the show?? Hard to think of a less suitable song to use in a ‘In Memorium’ section. This is up there with using I dreamed a Dream as a wedding song.

I dunno On My Own from Les Mis sung by an an ex would probably be less suitable lol

Actually, if it were a song from "Les Miserables," it should be "Empty Chairs."

Although it’s well-intentioned and well done, I don’t like mixing In Memoriam with live performance, it’s two conflicting things, you’re watching a video and thinking of those we have loved and lost while also trying to appreciate a live performance of talented people right in front of you.

And the song's original context doesn't help its case

I disagree, many many more people saw this in memoriam on their feeds because of the DEH casts Preforming

it's an amazing performance and it makes me really sad to hear about all these people who passed away unfortunately, but I've got one question: why does it start with Pure Imagination and then transitions to I donìt know which song before For Forever? Serious curiosity

Second is "You and I" from Goodbye, Mr. Chips film, song written by Leslie Bricusse. Mr. Bricusse also wrote Pure Imagination with Anthony Newley.

I like the song and the singers but this was a terrible choice
@paulcurran71772 жыл бұрын
Is this about the singers or the people who passed? It’s a commercial. No respect at all. Crappy choice for a memorial

I love DET, but this was just plain bad.

Idk why but the singing seems ....bad

Well, the songs have been hacked to pieces to try and make it meaningful but it's failing. Also, while they are very talented performers, they can only do so much to save a performance when they are handcuffed to such a degree.

Agreed- I don't think it's even the singers fault, the composition is just really strange. Plus the sound design, it feels quite hollow.
