Photos of Kelvin Smith and his family and brothers and sisters, made in memorial for his funeral. This is to honor his memory. He was a great organist. The song is "Pilgrim Song" by the Tabernacle Choir.
He died early in the morning on January 31st, 2024, of a heart failure due to a heart attack. He had discovered 2 weeks prior to that that he had 4th stage pancreatic cancer, which had spread to his liver. This caused blood clots, which got stuck in his heart.
I spent most of yesterday going through old photos, in cooperation with his family, to put together a slideshow of his life. Kelvin Smith is Mormon and one song he requested in his last few hours of life was the "Pilgrim Song" which talks of living forever. Mormon's believe in the resurrection and Kelvin had been in pain for months because of his pancreatic cancer. And he'd lost partial vision due to several mini-strokes. So he looked forward to being resurrected with a new body. He also looked forward to going to heaven and finding a pipe organ there and playing his music. That's why we have a heavenly pipe organ at the end, which Kelvin made, incidentally, with AI art.
