Great drummer with an incredible technique. His drum sound from the 70's (album: Sweet Fanny Adams) still holds to modern standards, almost 50 years later. Homesick to the 60s/70s period....why can't we just freeze time and stay in the era we love most ......

And keep it alive we must. What a wonderful thing it would be for our sons and daughters to say a big fat NO to the rubbish we have to listen to today. And one day, some people will appear on X-Fuctor with guitars and drums and rescue us rockers and connoisseurs of proper music from the dross of today. And the X-Fuctor judges will simply not have "a clue what to do". We shall fight at Glastonbury, we shall fight at Leeds/Reading. We shall fight in the studios and in the pubs and clubs. We shall never surrender. And, one day, the new guitarists (not you, Ed) and new drummers will come to the rescue of us poor souls sick to death of screaming harridans and poncy little boy bands. God bless your soul, Sir Mick, and thank you for being such a legend with them sticks.

I have to agree with everyone. Mick was one of the most underrated drummers of his time. Not only a great drummer but a great showman! Man could he twirl a drumstick. My little grandson was looking over my shoulder one day while I was playing a "Fox on the Run" video. The one that starts with the green line at the beginning and jumps to the music. He came right when Mick twirled his drumstick the longest and wow was he captivated by that! He was only 6 or 7 at the time but I think he made me replay it over and over 10 times. He loved watching that video and always would sit on our couch with a few Tupperware bowls pretending to drum. This was all because of watching Mick Tucker!!! Mick was by far one of the best!!! (RIP)

He’s the reason I wanted to play drums. I heard Ballroom Blitz in 1975 in fifth grade and I was hooked. I got a chance in 2000 to shoot a few emails back and forth with him to express my thanks for inspiration to drum. Little did I know he would pass a few years later. I’ve been drumming 45 years and every time I sit behind the kit, I think of all the drummers that have influenced me in that time. Finally in a band capable of playing Ballroom Blitz. We are planning on debuting it this Friday. I hope I make Mick proud!

my first hero and probably my biggest influence as a drummer, he was such a unique drummer, musically completely outstanding and still totally underrated, he had that special DNA that very few drummers have, listening to his drumming nowaydays proofs that he modernized drumming back than. Up until this day forward I can remember when I heard fox on the run for the very first time, It made such an impact on me that I decided I want to become a musician and suddenly life started making sense.... of course I became a drummer and 40 years later Im still deeply impressed by his style.
