Thank you for these timeless reminders, Elder Soares! We have loadshedding (power-outs) rather regularly in South Africa 🇿🇦 and Wi-Fi connection went down while you spoke the phrase "equally relevant". I kept trying to start the connection by going back a little and heard the phrase repeated three times: "Equally relevant", repeated three times. I got the message, one part of a much needed personal alteration in my own heart; and am grateful for this emphasis due to local electricity issues. AND, I note, the lesson growing in the sharing of it here: there will be no power in our relationship if I am so selfish and self-centred to omit to give the consideration and appreciation and generous reciprocal devotion to my wonderful friend, my precious wife (alterations = placing my all upon the alter of the Lord without asking for a receipt = meekness. Elder Maxwell). May I never be a faulty extension cord, or a dead socket. This great sermon has reminded and encouraged me to try to be a little better today.

I'm so greatful that I can be yoked to Jesus Christ forever! I'm single, but through the hope that comes through the grace of Christ, I will someday have the opportunity to be able to be find a good wife. I know that Elder Soares is a true apostle of Jesus Christ. I also know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true!

Serve one another and with one another. I felt very inspired the other day to have far more meaningful, thoughtful out, pondering and regular prayer with my spouse. I need to remember this inspiration.

I loved Elder Soares's words which help to elevate the status of women in LDS homes, but why is it "important to observe that the government in the family follows the patriarchal pattern, differing in some respects from priesthood leadership in the Church?" Why should women be equal in family leadership, but unequal in church leadership? Just think how much stronger the message of equality would be if there were as many female speakers in General Conference as male speakers, for instance?

I think it would be a good compromise that you find would go over just as well as men running primary or nursery in other words each have bein given devin rules by our Heavenly Father he decides how talks in his meetings

Hi Kyrstin, I just wanted to tell you that, every single calling, and personal responsibility is equal in terms of importance to God in the church. There is no inferior or Superior stewardship to God, and mankind. Of course every calling has different responsibilities, and keys of stewardship, but that doesn't mean much compared to how we magnify callings the responsibilities we have. It's like an orchestra. Is the conductor any better than the orchestra itself? No, the conductor would look silly just waving his baton around with no one to follow him or her. The same goes with an orchestra, without a conductor to help them to stay together. "What is the most important calling in the Church? It is the one you currently have." -Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf I hope this clarifies things.

I wonder if every woman is so eager to speak in conference. In my experience, not all people asked to speak are willing to do so. Could be the Lord is mindful of their reluctance.

Did anyone notice that what he said in part contradicts the proclamation "The Family"? Did the Lord, who never changes, change his mind again?

You have stated there is a Contradiction - Without any Explanation of what this "Contradiction" is ?

No contradiction dear

In Joseph Smith's day, every worthy man could hold the priesthood. In Brigham Young's time, that was changed. Some of the General Authorities at that time were no longer eligible to hold the priesthood, which must have been interesting. A century or so later, all worthy men were once again welcome. Did the Lord change, or did we?
