I am have recently graduated from Macquarie uni in the wrong degree ( commerce). I love philosophy and love this type of discussion. I want a career in thinking/philosophy/theory. Any advice for me mate? I am struggling :(

Hey mate, my suggestion is to keep exploring your interests regardless of whether they align with your "career" or not. And if you want to study them deeper, go back into academia, although I completely understand it's challenging for us in Australia as research students are paid terribly (if not nothing at all). Shoot me an email at trahulsam@gmail.com if you want to chat more with a brief intro to yourself.

Good to hear, my friend!

I just heard her critique of psychoanalysis. I don't think she understands the concept of unconscious processes overdetermining our declarative/conscious acts.

Still quite confused about her points of defining a representation and why it’s the wrong way to go about developing tech and approaching certain scientific issues

Could you be a bit more specific, my friend? Perhaps give me a timestamp? Here's the paper we're referring to for a more detailed analysis: researchers.mq.edu.au/en/publications/an-alternative-to-cognitivism-computational-phenomenology-for-dee

@@RahulSam my criticism was regarding a literal correlation between the mathematical definition of representations and connecting that with computational phenomenology… I was very lost with why there are problems with representations… as I find representations to be very difficult to understand myself… representations can be leveraged as algebras or more commonly as Lie algebra/Lie group structures? I’ve been struggling to understand this area of maths.
