In search of puffins on Lunga | Sailing around the Isle of Mull, west coast of Scotland (Ep2)

A week long sailing trip around the Isle of Mull on the west coast of Scotland, visiting 5 islands in 6 days, including Lunga and its puffins, doing our best to avoid some bad weather and encountering an unusual visitor to one of the anchorages we stayed at.

Discovered your channel looking for "Sailing Videos" of Scotland. My wife and I so enjoyed your video's hope to make it to Scotland to visit friends that live in Scotland. I have 48% Scottish blood and 52% Irish. I have so enjoyed several of your videos and needless to say it wets my desire to purchase another sailboat.

@@tarbertsailing Thanks for replying. I have a charter out of Craobh Haven in July Skip. With all that rain you had I was hoping you’d say it was April! (Haha!). Where to go? I’m hoping to see Fingal’s cave, but beyond that I have no fixed plans. I’ve got a few inexperienced crew so I don’t want anything too demanding. I did a UK circumnavigation a few years ago (selling the book for charity - michaelgoodwinsailing.blogspot.co.uk) but we didn’t really have the time to explore this area as much as I would have liked, so back for more now!

@mikesails100 Well Croabh is a great starting point. The west coast of Mull is great - fantastic scenery and wildlife, but does need fairly settled weather to enjoy it. There are several places to hide, but big open water between them, and swell affects everywhere. Don't forget the Small Isles (Canna, Rum, Eigg, Muck). Very easy to get to and also offer good shelter if needed - and simple enough to get to Mallaig, the south side of Skye and the Sound of Sleat. In any case, you'll have fun - just hope you don't have a series of lows as we did last year when we went round Skye :)
